I've been confused what that means. I was hoping to hear the 3DS coming down in price. From what i understand there is a 0% of an SMT bundle being announced.
So is Sony just sitting back and letting MS dig their hole deep enough, so once they release all of their own info it doesn't seem as bad? I'm sure most of the shit people are complaining about will be present in both systems. It's not about gaming any more, it's about manipulating gamers into spending the most amount of money as possible.
DRM is fine, as long as its non intrusive and doesn't affect the user negatively. Blocking renting/private games sales is not. Microsoft has also added a number of other bullshit "features" that simply inconvenience us as users. It's not good.
What the heck does that even mean. Do you think back in the day Sega was more concerned with the purity of gaming and not making money?

once a day checkin online- if you go without the internet for more than 24hrs, you CANNOT play any game.
if you loginto your account at a friends house this changes to once an HR checkin.
right now there is NO way for video game rentals for the One.
right now there is NO way to LEND a game to a friend to play.
you can sell a game ONLY to authorized dealers.
you can give a game you own to a friend- if they have been your friend for 30 days. then you lose access to the game permenantly, unless you buy a new version
Mandatory installs of all games
you need a live account to play games. rumor has it that xbox live is going ONLY gold. but no confirmation or denial atm.
about sony. they have not announced much in the way of drm, however they have said that you never have to connect online to play games.
they come out and announce that games are exactly the way they are now for rental resale lending etc and come out at 400 or less and they will destroy the one sales wise.

As far as the pricing, inflation-adjusted, it's not that much more expensive than 360 at launch. I'm almost assuredly getting a PS4 at launch and I would probably be alright with a 499.99 pricetag. I'm hoping for less, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

I have to praise MS for the style of press conference they had today. Basically game after game after game, well done.
It's too bad that most of these games look like 360 games in 1080p, though, and basically the only "exclusive" that looked fun to play (Titanfall) was a game I'll be playing on my PC next year.
Oh, and that $499 price point, ugh. I feel like $399 is the sweet spot, especially for a console that's less powerful than the PS4.

Forza is the only thing that could push me towards buying at launch, and with so much stuff to play even right now I can't justify a purchase for 1 game plus the shitty DRM. Titanfall looked insanely bad ass though, may wait til that comes out.
