I've tried everything about 5 times each. No dice. Just a blue light and no output to my TV or extra computer monitor I had.
Did you get it at Gamestop? Gamestop District Managers will be sitting on a few systems to use for defective exchanges/presale screwups for really irate customers. If you got it at Gamestop, pitch a fit, ask for the DMs number, and you might be able to get it swapped out ASAP today rather than having to wait for the 2nd round of shipments. We used to do that with every system launch I was around for, I assume they still do.

Best bet is to not purchase any EA games at all.
The most sane thing you've said all day. I'll still buy DAI, because I can't help myself, but I won't touch most of the rest of their shit.

Just got my PS4 in a bit ago, had to finish watching the latest ep of Outbreak Company first though, updating it via USB right now.

It is timing out when I try to log in to my PSN Account, said server maintenance was going on.
That's bizarre. My system is setup to stay connected and has been in standby mode since last night. I wonder if i just never got kicked off once I got connected yesterday.

Mine was doing that last night I was just persistent with it and it eventually went through and I was able to setup a PSN account via the PS4. Once you are logged in it wont log you out unless you completely turn off your console (not standby). Best advice I can give is to just keep trying.

As for the EA games thing, generally I will agree, but I have no had issues with Battlefied (yet)

Typing in a 16 char randomly generated password to log into my PSN account on a controller is so totally awesome.

Hopefully it actually gets through to PSN.

"The message on EA's Help site was posted in error," an EA representative said in an e-mail to Kotaku. "Players with questions about PS4 connectivity can visitError... for the latest updates."P

Original post follows:p

Did you just get a brand new PlayStation 4? Did you download the day-one firmware update? Be careful-EA says the new patch has been rendering games unstable and buggy.P

Here's the blog post, published on EA's website today:p

UPDATE (3:42pm) - The blog post has now been pulled.
