I hope Goodell sends a message that this kind of response from the Pats won't be tolerated. They really are acting like shitty spoiled brats at this point

They're acting like spoiled brats because they're protesting a fucking retarded punishment for something with no actual proof and a whole shit-ton of assumptions and the ignoring of anything that might say the Patriots are, in fact, not filthy cheating scum?

And Patriots fans are the salty butt-hurt ones?

This should have been a pre/early season slap in the face and move on, instead the NFL has cornered the Patriots into creating a media circus. The NFL should have had mild penalties, admit after the report that it really had zero controls for controlling cheating and made changes to control the balls throughout the game to ensure they are the same pressure for everyone for the duration instead of "we have no the fuck idea what goes on and we kind of assume people do stupid shit with the balls but GUILTY!~"

Right. By selecting an extremely harsh fine, they all but guaranteed this stays in the news cycle. If they had merely done a 1-2 game suspension, 4th round pick, and maybe a 500k fine, the Pats probably would have just grumbled and moved on.

get the fuck out. really though, is that how you see this? Wells drew no conclusions and the league hands down the stiffest punishment in its history. So by appealing the Pats are acting like spoiled brats?

Stop posting altogether if you're really that biased.

Also it's absolutely no surprise Goodell is hearing the appeal. This is the singular reason why he used Troy Vincent to punish Brady & the Patriots, so he'd be able to hear the ultimate appeal.

This has turned into Goodell's fight for survival as commissioner. I expect no winners, besides popcorn sellers and sensationalist journo's.

You are telling me that the billion dollar league cant hire independent handler(s) of game balls each week for a 26 week season?

They didn't hire any because no one gave a fuck until Harbaugh got salty after the Ravens loss and wanted to get back at the Pats for the ineligible receiver tactic. Even the Wells report more or less reveals the refs didn't give a fuck (see: Refs filling footballs to 16 PSI).

Never go full retard NE.
"The rebuttal letter at times seems petty and at others comes up with some of the most off the wall excuses. The original report cites a text message between the two locker room workers who were found guilty of deflating the balls. At one point the word "deflate" comes up.

The Patriots rebuttal says "deflate" had to do with weight gain and weight loss because one of the gentlemen was under weight and the other was attempting to lose weight."

"One can specifically see this use of the term in a Nov. 30, 2014 text from Mr. McNally to Mr. Jastremski: "deflate and give somebody that jacket." (p. 87).""

So texts can damn the patriots, but not exonerate them? Got it.

And when he talks about the balls being inflated to 16 and that he was going to make them like watermelons? Just diet advice?

So you're agreeing that the refs overinflated a ball to 16 and McNally threatened to over inflate them more after Brady bitched? And this somehow supports the argument they deflated them?

Do you read your own posts?

Really?
"one of the ways they used the deflation/deflator term. Mr. Jastremski would sometimes work out and bulk up - he is a slender guy and his goal was to get to 200 pounds."

Mr. McNally to Mr. Jastremski: "deflate and give somebody that jacket." (p. 87). This banter, and Mr. McNally's goal of losing weight, meant Mr. McNally was the "deflator."
16:39:40 JM "Nice dude.jimmy needs some kicks..lets
make a deal.come on help the deflator"

[After Mr. Jastremski does not respond for several minutes, Mr. McNally sends a follow-up text.]
16:47:15 JM "Chill buddy im just f****n with you..im not going
to espn..yet"

Why would McNally get defensive if he is just referring to himself as a person who is losing weight?

Look if you can't acknowledge that there's confusion, and at least 2 sides to every "conclusion" Wells' made then you really need your head examined.

Yes I need my head examined because nobody uses the term deflator as someone who is trying to lose weight and itclearlydemonstrates in his own texts he doesn't refer to himself as the deflator because he is trying to lose weight, so confusing.

pretty sure the texts, verbatim, demonstrate the term was used between the two in context to weight.

instead of this...circus...it should have been 500k 4th round pick 1 game - 2 game max for brady... then it wouldn't be that bad, and we are still talking 1 psi,,i bet most of you would not be able to tell a difference between a ball at 11.5 & 12.5 psi.

whatever, all i know is, the patriots organization is pissed, brady is pissed, and do you(non patriots fans)REALLY want to see a pissed off patriots team? last time it happened the patriots went undefeated for the season until the superbowl.
