I thought everyone knew Peter King was a general dipshit, also he's a huge Boston homer and apologist.

NFL punishment is like Pawn Stars, except the NFL is the seller and the players are Rick Harrison.

Hard to tell what you're trying to say here, but it seems like you're saying the Wells Report said there were non-cheating reasons the footballs could have been as low as they were? Because that's the exact opposite of what the Wells Report said.
Please quote the science/math provided by the Wells report that contradicts the ideal gas law

I also don't get why everyone thinks the punishment will be lowered on appeal for no reason.
Rice, Peterson, and some Saints bounty gate culprits won theirs.

Peterson didn't win his. Arbiter upheld the suspension, so the NFLPA took it to court. It was only after the judge ruled in favor of Peterson that the NFL reinstated him.

"Contradicts" the ideal gas law, or the part where it states there's no way the ideal gas law accounts for the discrepancy? If you're saying that Wells has to disprove a scientific law, then at least your stupidity is consistent.

"Our consultants confirmed that a reduction in air pressure is a natural result of
footballs moving from a relatively warm environment such as a locker room to a colder
environment such as a playing field. According to our scientific consultants, however, the
reduction in pressure of the Patriots game balls cannot be explained completely by basic
scientific principles, such as the Ideal Gas Law"

There's no way that punishment will stand as is. My guess...fine reduced to 500k, they'll lose some draft pick no one gives a fuck about ([email protected]/* <![CDATA[ */!function(t,e,r,n,c,a,p){try{t=document.currentScript||function(){for(t=document.getElementsByTagName('script'),e=t.length;e--;)if(t[e].getAttribute('data-cfhash'))return t[e]}();if(t&&(c=t.previousSibling:emoji_nose:{p=t.parentNode;if(a=c.getAttribute('data-cfemail':emoji_nose:{for(e='',r='0x'+a.substr(0,2)|0,n=2;a.length-n;n+=2)e+='%'+('0'+('0x'+a.substr(n,2)^r).toString(16:emoji_nose:.slice(-2);p.replaceChild(document.createTextNode(decodeURIComponent(e:emoji_nose:,c)}p.removeChild(t)}}catch(u){}}()/* ]]> */round 2016...really?), and maybe suspended 1 or 2 games tops. Patriots organization are probably the most pissed about the draft picks and a ban for a big chunk of the season is pretty horseshit.

Peter King actually had a good article that pointed out the article laid out a bunch of science and totally ignored it, because the science in the Wells Report showed the footballs could have legit been in that approximate range they were measured at.

I had to bite my tongue at work. Some Jets fans were all happy at the punishment. It was adorable, thinking their team will stop sucking ass because of this lol
I'm guessing Brady has his suspension reduced, but the loss of draft picks will most likely stand. The league had said if the saints cooperated with the penalties there may be a chance of getting their 2nd round pick back in the following year's draft. Saints cooperated, all player's suspensions were vacated, but they still didn't get their 2nd round pick back.

Patriots fans incensed with Tom Brady's four-game suspension for his role in ?#?Deflategate? have taken to social media to express their disapproval, going so far as to suggest the Patriots not hang their banner for winning Super Bowl XLIX on Opening Night, but rather wait until No. 12's first game back before raising it.

They should just take a little off around the edges and call it good.

You would swear that the NFL sentenced Tom Brady to death here in Boston. All the sports talk stations and TV are flipping losing their minds.

The 4 games will be appealed, and knocked down. I mean let's be honest even with Tom Brady missing a couple games, the AFC championship will probably still go thru Foxboro.

The 1st round draft pick is what is bugging me. You clear the coach and team in the report, but still slam em like that? If it was because they wouldn't make the ball boy available for the followup interviews that shit seems harsh. You trying to make a statement to the other owners? Really? At the risk of losing your biggest supporter and probably the most powerful owner in the NFL? It just seems this year Goodell has been all over the map with his punishments, and it was a bad year for this shit to go down with the Pats.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ok, good one, Brahma. That's trolling at the highest levels.

Edit: To be clear. There is no singularly "powerful" owner in the NFL. The revenue and income streams are so spread out these days that no single owner (even the all mighty Jerrah) can be seen as someone who can be a power broker by themselves. This isn't MLB.

In other news, Texas was considering pulling out of Daylight Savings time. The bill was defeated because:

A Texas House push to exclude the state from observing daylight saving time has collapsed amid concerns that doing so would make residents choose between going to church and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
You can't make this shit up.

The churches would have changed the time on their services. Preachers know they don't stay in business by trying to compete with NFL football.

This is such a case of pandering and politics on a something that was really trivial and a non-issue from the get-go. The absolute ridiculous, over-the-top, response has everything to do with the success of the Patriots and and nothing to do with under-inflated balls that had zero game impact. No one cares about cheating when your team sucks. The Patriots are a lightning rod for hate because they dominate.

Says local media is overreacting and losing its mind. Proceeds to overreact and lose his mind!
