Yeah as I get older, my meal consumption goes down it seems. In my 20s and early 30s, that was basically a starter.

Does make home cooking last much longer though, leftovers for days.

Been crushing HEB food for about a week. Marinated meats were all pretty good quality and had nice flavors for reasonable prices. The CC icecream was good I think. I'm not an ice cream man, so I gave it to a relative after one spoon. She told me it was amazing- on par with winco ice cream, whatever that means. The cheese puffs were S-tier, I got the ghost pepper one. Tortillas were really good. people were recommending the butter ones, but imo it just adds a flavor I don't need, so I preferred the plain. The green sauce is mid. If it had vinegar instead of water I'd be all in. Their in store tortilla chips were amazing.

Where HEB really stood out for me is in their store dairy brand. Their government white processed cheese block was S-tier for crap cheese, made an amazing dip. And their sour cream was probably the best sour cream I've had that I didn't make myself. It actually stays emulsified commendably well.

Got tricked into Chick Fil A last night thinking they still had peach milkshakes (they do not). Went with their new sandwich (pretzel bun and bacon something or other). Took one bite and realized Wendy’s did this like 8 years ago and it’s better there. Mistakes were made.

Got tricked into Chick Fil A last night thinking they still had peach milkshakes (they do not). Went with their new sandwich (pretzel bun and bacon something or other). Took one bite and realized Wendy’s did this like 8 years ago and it’s better there. Mistakes were made.

I went to Chik-Fil-A in Billings a while back. It's the only franchise in Eastern Montana. It kind of blew my mind. I think it's the biggest fast food place I've ever been to and it was absolutely packed at lunch time. Like 15 cars in the drive through and 15 people in line inside. Never seen anything like it. I don't really understand. To me it's just fast food with no burgers, which is the main reason to have fast food in the first place. I like some chicken strips now and then, but I can't understand what's so magical about the place.

CFA is just decent quality chicken sammiches wherever you are in the country. Always moist. Decent size. Their nuggies used to be pretty good too.

Chik Fil A gets the volume because its quick hassle free consistent fast food. The problem is, that used to be the norm and the whole point of going to a fast food place, but now almost any other fast food place is going to be the roll of a dice on if you can get out in a decent time and not have your order fucked up on top of it while dealing with low IQ trash. Basically the bar has been lowered almost across the board.

apparently no one wants to work at my kfc, it was just like the tiktok 1 black lady was running the whole store, i had already put in my online order, so she couldn't refuse it (i always order online b4 i pick up, this turned out well), i mean i understand, she closed drive thru and she wasn't taking register orders and shes running around breading chicken and everything else, waited half/hour for it.

literally next door is hardees, they got a line circulating the lot, but besides me only 1 other person even came into the kfc, and that was b/c she tried drive thru first. (and she was rejected from ordering)

this is at a food exit (from a highway) so it's busy, ppl just don't seem to want kfc (oh also it's rated pretty bad at 3.0, lulz)

They always seem to have 15-20 people working behind the counter(that are all visibly doing something). They pay their people good wages(for what the work is), its very consistent(helped a lot by having a very limited menu) and quick. The only issue ever is the drive thru is always packed but you still move at a good pace, because a car never sits at the final window for longer than a 1-2 minutes getting their food.

If you're in TX there's a similar place called P. Terry's that I go to every so often. Most of their shops are drive through only.

Speaking of chik-fil-a, Relative had a fan fall off the ceiling this morning, and my price for fixing it was a meal there, because the place had just re-opened after a remodel. Instead of two lanes all the way around, its now one. The line moved painfully slow, and when I told the lady at the window/door thing thank you she just made a weird grunt.

WTF chik-fil-a?? I think they did it so they could fire all those people they used to have working the drive through line.

Airport restaurants tend to be staffed by 3rd party companies. EG, HMS Host employs a lot of the chik-fil-a employees at my airport I think. That's why so many people in the airport are islamic jihadi illegals that don't speak english.
