Story time.

I was actually excited when KFC opened in my town a few years back because I love fried chicken and there wasn't a drive through place in town but it was a KFC/A&W combo and apparently all of the employees were not just drug addicts but actually came to work high and stayed that way for their whole shift. It's the only explanation for their behavior.

I sat in the drive thru one day watching the girl in there filling my drink and it truly looked like it was a real challenge for her, like just barely within her abilities. Another time I was asked to pull over and park and the kid that came out to the car brought me someone else's order and seemed genuinely confused that I didn't want it. Then he came out 5 minutes later with the same order and asked me again if it was mine. There's a place right across the street where people with developmental disabilities can work and if he didn't come from there he needed to go there. The place was closed in less than 6 months and I am back to grocery store deli fried chicken but I didn't mourn it because the food was terrible and after I saw the employees I didn't really feel safe eating there anyway.

Not that bad, but kinda how I feel out here in Rural OK. Very few restaurants that I feel like can compare to my old state, and they are deep in tulsa. A few of the "homecooked dinner" type country food is pretty alright, but everything else is too exotic to be done well. I even avoid one braums that seems to have that hire developmentally delayed teens down pat. They'll have 12 retards milling around struggling to handle the drive thru and a couple walk up ice cream orders.

Yeah we pretty much just have burger and pizza places, steak houses, and diners. We do have one pretty decent Mexican place and a super basic Americanized Chinese buffet but one of the biggest things I miss from my time living in the city is the restaurants.

Same here. But no pizza places. Down the road a bit is an awesome breakfast joint, and a family owned sub shop that is also awesome. The rest are not even starvation bait. No place to get good Chinese, even in the city.

Haven't had KFC in 4 years or so. No chance of ever going back. Local market deli has ace chicken, though. Fish fry Friday is very good, too. Also haven't been to a Taco Bell in a long time. I looked at reviews of them in the city, and all very poor. One guy got a 12 pack of tacos, and none of them had meat. Did go to a Taco John's. Decent, fat tacos. Spendy as fuck though. A few tacos and a medium bucket of tater tots: $22.

Last city I lived in had an awesome Mexican place. Carne Asada was amazing. All home made everything. Always packed and a spotless restaurant.

New burger place opened up not too long ago. Ordered take out, and got two burgers made from frozen patties and served on supermarket buns and NO mayo, ketchup, lettuce or tomato. Kind of wild to go into debt only to lose it by half-assing everything. Same story with the diner. Been through new owners every year only to close down. New owners don't take anything but cash. Really strange to exclude most people from being a customer. Even Wal Mart sells Stripe kits, so zero reason to not take cards.

Hey friends. Just checking in to see how everyones recovery is going after our talk. I know it's tough but I promise that after a about a month after quitting fast food and making healthier choices it gets easier. I myself tried a quarter pounder with cheese about 6 weeks after quitting and was surprised how hard it was to eat. I couldn't finish what was once my favorite McDonalds lunch time food and what I could force down made me feel like shit the rest of the day. Its like eatting that crap all the time gets your body used to it but once you stop nature corrects itself. Good luck all. Im here if you need me on your journey to a better you!

YUM Brands deserves bankruptcy for their failure and moronic choices, continued price gouging, and full enshittification of their brands.
We've created a system where corporations are required to increase profit margins every year, and everyone pretends thats reasonable and OK, then we sit around complaining that everything gets simultaneously worse and more expensive.

I'm not saying youre wrong about Yum Brands, not at all.

I'm saying its bigger than that. Its all of them. Its "but the Dow is 50,000!"

Parasitic douchebags get to make a lot of money by clicking "trade", but everything gets worse and more expensive all the time. Thats the purpose of our system. Thats the design.

From now on, the rule in this thread is to discuss which fast foods you like or dislike, we're not going to shame people for eating it or just say its bad for you.

Thats the rule, follow it or don't. We're not going to have discussion back and forth on it.

The thing is people have choices. I choose not to get ripped off by shit like KFC (among other reasons I don't go there). Most of the smaller mom & pop places aren't even more expensive than fast food. If people would just go to those the fast food places would be forced to lower prices or go out of business. McDonalds seems to have slowly realized this. Dominos has also maintained pretty good prices. Also, people forget you can get carry out at most places like Chili's so there really is no reason to screw yourself over going to a shitty fast food place.

I have no idea how fast food places like five guys stay in business. They're comically overpriced and inferior in quality to many competitors, yet people still go there. I think McCheese McCheese was the last one to post eating there and it was something like 40 something dollars for 2 burger meals.

I've actually contemplated trying it again since it's been like 15 years since I've been there. People keep saying how great it is but I know its expensive.
