My guess is they go to the Good Place and

1) It ends up being a test; or
2) They get bored as fuck after a thousand years or whatever (because there is no conflict and no way to further improve themselves) and decide it would be better to get rebooted like everyone else

That was pretty cool. I actually thought that was the finale and thought "huh... well, thats a pretty good place to end the show".

but nope, the finale is NEXT week and its a 2 parter

the writing is crazy too, someone screencapped this from many, many episodes ago

Ya, it did feel like sort of a finale. I'm guessing next episode is an extreme time jump and Eleanor & Chidi start to feel the effects of eternal time impacting their relationship. So rather than let it sour, they decide to walk through the door together so they don't get to a place where they drift apart completely. They do so, but rather than ceasing to exist, they are reincarnated as completely new people (either on our Earth or another universe's Earth)...but they still have the same core soul and are better people than they were originally/still end up finding each other eventually.

That was as near perfect as I could have reasonably expected. I also bawled my damn eyes out.

I really enjoyed that ending. This was an incredible series. I kind of wish they used the same makeup people for Kristen from the show for the aftershow. She looked a lot older than expected. But I guess that's just the makeup.

All in all, this was an incredible show, and I'm glad it hooked me way back with the first episode. I'm also glad that we got to see it all the way through, instead of ending on a seasonal cliff hanger.

Great ending. I didn’t guess the full end, but I thought it was a nice way to wrap it up

It was good. When you want some more, there's at least one really good porn parody of it.

It's one of the best shows ever. Season 1 was a work of art.

Lol, you could be right. Not really my type of show, but I keep clicking on it.
The uniqueness is what pulled me in at first, then just how well everything flowed story wise, characters, you just genuinely enjoy it.

and they didn’t drag it on, which good on them.

Good Place and Parks & Recreation are two shows that are super positive, uplifting, without resorting to cheap laughs or putting people down. Its sadly fairly rare in mainstream media. P&R maybe went on a season too long and the first season is AWFUL, but Good Place stuck the landing and exited at the perfect time, 4-5 seasons is the max any TV show should be.

Necro'ing this thread because somehow I'd never watched this before and I just binged it over the last week or so. I enjoyed it beginning to end and am very glad they ended the series on a high note instead of pulling a LOST or GoT.
