I googled Tranny Zelda and my fucking god do I hate “gamers”. I didn’t realize that BotW and TotK were so ravenously discussed as “queer” whatever that dumbass word means.
I’ve met very few “queer gamers” that actually play games or if they do it’s for 30 minutes then it’s “too hard.”
I remember a “queer gamer girl” in our IT dept said she loved Hogwarts Legacy. So I asked about the mechanics etc. Within 30 seconds it was obvious she barely touched it.
Dude later told me she had talked about it for months and took a day off to play then only got barely into it and quit because it was hard.

If they're going with one of the most established Zelda "stories" out there, probably Ocarina of Time, I could at least understand picking a somewhat androgynous-looking girl to play Zelda because she spends a good chunk of the story disguised as Sheik and passing as a lithe young man, but that doesn't mean you should be casting a tranny or a man to play one of the most famous fictitious princess characters ever.

That's funny because I only recently got a PS5 and played some games I'd missed out on, and I noticed several of them have the option to be invincible out right. Not even very easy or narrative/story difficulty, just plain invincible. And they're great games too (namely, Control and Plague Tale Requiem).. I mean it's fine that they want to make games accessible to most people, they're good stories and a lot of love and care goes into creating those games, but it just struck me as odd how this option exists nowadays in games that aren't very difficult to begin with.

As Zelda is one of their flagships, I'm quite sure Nintendo of Japan, even Myamoto himself, is going to be very much involved in the development of the movie, like they were for the Mario animated movie. This rumor of a transgendered actor for Zelda has been viral the last few days but I'm sure it's just for clickbaits, Nintendo isn't going to risk alienating a large part of their MASSIVE Zelda fanbase, especially when most are already a little cautious about it being live-action.
Chances are the only LGBTBBQ person you're going to see in this project is goddamn Tingle, or those gay carpenters from Gerudo Valley in Ocarina of Time.

Given recent Hollywood trends, it's going to be Anya Taylor-Joy. Which while she's fairly easy on the eyes these days, I'm pretty sick of seeing her in everything.
I can't see them getting a hard trans as any major character. It's funny as an idea, but it would cost them literally 10s to 100s of millions if they did it, and they absolutely know that. It's going to be a pretty safe box-check and link is going to be a youngish actor that can be exploited for several more movies because if they just do the bare minimum, it's going to make a billion dollars.
The Switch Zelda games were gangbusters; the audience is massive and the money to be made is ridiculous. After the Mario Bros movie, they aren't going to fuck that up intentionally.

I frankly wish they’d aim for a younger link and Zelda. Be a simpler save the princess story and aim for the level of wonderment we probably felt with something like Neverending Story. Complexity could come in the sequels that would be inevitable.
The best part of Zelda is you can recast it any time and use some sort of flash back scene to explain it away as ancestors.
