Essentially they aren’t writing the character out, just not focusing on them at all. That is actually smart.

If things change, they can bring back the character

If not, it’s easy to explain why they aren’t around (they’re basically doing their own thing - which they kind of were at the end of season 2)

According to Favreau the show kind of moves in real time like the MCU does. So Grogu was with Luke for almost 2 years.

Pretty sure it is so they can show Grogu kicking more ass this season. He can't be a liability forever.

Wasn't season 2 pretty great? Feels like it's been forever so hard to remember everything

Seems they lowered the viewing age a tad, making it a bit more family friendly and more classic Star Wars.
I don't disagree with that tactic as things like Star Wars and Star Trek will probably live on as long as their is entertainment, even if there are bad decades.
Got to get the youngins hooked.

Interesting opening episode for the season. Metric fucktons of foreshadowing, not the least of which is Ezra/Thrawn. I dig the plant dude pirate captain and his ship.
