Watched Freaks last night with my gal. Total WTF is going on first 1/3 of the film, as you slowly start to understand. Worth watching, even if they sorta already made this in the 80s, and even got a look-a-like actor... I'd watch more flicks in this world.

Just watched The Last Thing He Wanted. I'm a huge fan of this kind of thriller and I did enjoy it, but not as much as I should have. It felt like important parts of the plot were missing (edited out?) and so it somewhat didn't make sense. Overall disappointing.

The Letter for the King. I thought this wasn't bad. It's like a YA GoT lite. If you have a bug to watch some fantasy it'll probably fill that need.

Watched a couple episodes of this now, does not fail to deliver. Shit is crazy
Up to episode 4, every episode just gets weirder and weirder. Definitely documentaries like this are what make Netflix so good, and I'm really enjoying this

I enjoyed it too. However I had heard like a third of the jokes already from podcasts and interviews.
That's what i realized about Chappelle. It was impactful, not only funny but meaningful. It had me searching for more, and like the entire special were reposts.

Yeah, the amazingness of Netflix's documentaries are the only thing that keeps me subscribed. Their library is kinda shitty nowadays(outside of a few good shows here and there), but they consistently knock it out of the park with their documentaries.

This Tiger King shit was wild. You have people basically admitting to crimes in a documentary. There is a guy not wearing a shirt for his interview. A tertiary character is a guy who has a harem and forces women to get boob jobs. They spring a surprise loss of limb on you. Everyone should watch this!

Fat He-Man lookalike on a jetski with Survivor playing in the background is the best part.

And don't forget about the ex-drug dealer who has killed people with a circular saw and is somehow out of jail.

I watched The Platform last night. Was surprisingly good - the premise had me gripped throughout. There was about 3 minutes in the middle where I thought it was going to take a 90 degree turn right into blatant Socialism-will-work-somehow but it didn't. The ending was pretty meh, but the whole package was worth a watch. Well filmed, well acted, interesting concept. It reminds me a little bit of Cube. Not much thematically in common, just the mood and the way it is delivered.

this was good - pretty intense - I didn't mind the ending because

that lady said that everyone who worked for the project believes no one under 16 is allowed in there so maybe that would make the difference for ?reasons?, maybe - I was pretty excited to see an unspoiled dish get sent back though so was bummed that didn't work out

and ya I thought this was going to be a commentary on why socialism is good but ends up it's just speaking to the human condition.

The girl is the message! The girl is the message.

So what do you think happened to the main character - he just rolled off the platform and died? I would also have preferred the untouched dish as The Message but, as you say, the movie became more about the people than the distribution of food,

Yea I'm not sure what else he'd be besides dead at the end. At least no other ghosts can fuck with him cause he's got stabby old man to protect them with the power of the Samurai Plus

I may be biased here but Unorthodox was fantastic. A good dose of crazy religious oppression and good story, though they could have gone a bit lighter on the LGBT stuff near the end. Well acted and tragically touching.

watched an anime called Bleach and the girl introduces herself as Rukia Coochcake. Isn't spelled that way, but it gave me a lol.

In college there was a girl named Poon Puni. lol

We need more activity in this thread. Yesterday I went back in time and watched 1980 "The Changling" because I heard it was a classic and i'm having a tough time finding things to watch in netflix/amazon. I suppose I can continue my visual spelunking and hit up "Farscape" "The Wire" and other series I missed over the years. Hmm wrong thread for that.

I need to see more stuff like Starry Eyes and House of the Devil. Horror is either good or real real bad.
