Hmm musicians friend has the one I was looking at for $100 off now with free shipping, not a very expensive guitar to begin with. Might do that instead.

Ordered an Epiphone ES 339Pro. I kind of like the idea of it being a little lighter, could use a little less weight while playing now. Never owned anything but several telecasters one after another. Something new anyway and only $400 to play around with.

Ever consider a Casino? I’ve been looking at some of the John Lennon reissues

They cancelled my order and said I could order something else or cancel. This was this mornings stupid deal of the day for the same price. I still have the credit. I'm thinking about it. I just want something about this price that is semi hollow and different. Maybe.

Gretsch G2627T trip pickup with bigsby.

Musicians Friend/Guitar Center is having issues I think now. Two orders in a row they cancelled.

I tried to buy a Ibanez bass from them a couple years ago, I had the same issue you are dealing with, finally just gave up. Now I don't even bother to look at the site when I am thinking about getting something.

You can tell the Trumpbux hit and people are locked in might as well buy a guitar. The stock at all the sites dropped to nothing in a lot of cases in the last few days. Even sweetwater has "can reserve" listed for a lot of common ones now that were in stock when I looked Tuesday and Wed. I picked a bad time to buy something. I have a gift card at sweetwater but so much is out of stock.

Dumb question time. It's been difficult to search for any answers. I was thinking of getting a squire telecaster with 1 humbucker just for something different to try before I spend any real money on one. They have the Classic Vibe with single coil bridge and humbucker neck. But I guess last year they dropped the same appearing guitar Vintage Modified. It's impossible to find the difference in the two searching. Anyone know they're both available new.

Like these? Not suggesting buying from Thomann right now because shipping has doubled due to conoachan, but they have a great search tool for different configurations.

70's classic vibe is the cheapest at around $300. The G&L semi hollow looks interesting at $500 and the Vintera is the Fender Budget line at around $800.

I ordered some stuff from Thomann over the holidays and threw in one of their B-Stock harley benton tele-deluxe's that was $100 for the hell of it. I's become my main practice guitar. I would've never guess that I would like a tele-style body. But it's light, sits well in the lap, and plays great after I put some work into the fret ends. The sound out of the bridge pickup is very unique. I kinda want to mount Guitarfetish bigsby knock-off and roller bridge on it.

I finally found the answer. Same exact configuration. Only difference is the wood for the body. One was basswood and the other poplar. I still haven't decided. The CV is the new one and is out everywhere, the CM some places still have ones from last year as new. Still thinking. I'll probably dick around and then buy a $1200 American one later instead lol.

It's just something to try and play around with is all. If it goes like normal I'll look for a while and one day I'll just sit down and buy something else entirely instead.

I just noticed the epi 339 with p-90's is the deal of the day today. Tempting, but I think I'm over wanting a semi-hollow for now.

Pro-audio star has an Ibanez Artwood parlor guitar for half off right now. If it'd been a month ago I'd have gotten it right away. I really want a small parlor acoustic that I can leave beside my desk for no rational reason. Mostly to practice finger picking, but I can do that on my classical guitar.

I've been looking at PRS McCartys. Anyone have experience with them? What's the neck profile like? I hate round, thick necks. Haven't found much info online beyond this image and I don't know if these are all available with a McCarty. Definitely prefer the thin.

I thought about it. I like the guitar, not sure on the p90's. If it was humbuckers for that price I would jump on it. They did it a few days ago and it last half the day and then they changed it to a Gretsch for a few hours and then something else. I think they changed colors on the relist.

Depends on which McCarty you are looking at. Most are Pattern or Vintage Pattern. There is one in the S2 line with the Pattern Thin.(sound like this is more your style) Best bet is to get into a big store that will have all of'em to try. They don't build them to spec without going into the custom shop

I wish I could go to a store. They're all closed here!

I just wish they made a Paul's guitar with 24 frets. I'm considering doing a kit just for those 2 extra frets, that and the cost difference.

I'm a 24-fret guy too. I've been window shopping for a high quality guitar with a fixed bridge and 24 frets but it's surprisingly difficult to find that with the "main" brands out there. Need to go custom. So weird for something that seems so basic.

Interesting conversation from Bigdguitars giving advice to luthiers.

I'm think about getting a budget p90 something, maybe an offbrand jazzmaster style, or doing a solo guitar kit. Darryl Braun did the solo p90 jazzmaster kit that looked good, but I'd want to do a surf green paint job. And I no faith in myself for that kind of paint job. Maybe a sg syle since a cherry red dye + lacquer looks like something I could handle.

Very stupid question of the day. I've NEVER even looked at a Les Paul. Are the epiphone les pauls like a studio or standard totally flat top? It's hard to tell from the phots if it's flat with a finish highlight or got a small curve to it. Not that it really matters.
