So,

Thank you for this product review. My wife loves to just spray insect to death with chemical warfare and let me clean up the mess. I went ahead and splurged. I chose the Widowmaker 3.5 as I like the handle cock more than the grip cock. Also the laser site is a hoot. I look forward to some insect destruction.
Picked one up myself today. We had 2 flies in the house that my lazy fat cat just looked at. Looking forward to blasting away!

I use the switch that is provided with the device. Saves guesswork.
Oh I see you are using a motor controller? Then yeah you would need to turn of the breaker. Bathroom outlets would still be hot though. Personally I hate using motor controllers, I just set the fan to medium and never touch it again.

I've never had to turn off a circuit breaker to install a ceiling fan. The wall switch works perfectly fine. That would allow you to use a plug in work light . You can always use a modest drop cord and plug into the bathroom receptacle as well. They are on isolated circuits.
Well, first, I'm not a professional electrician and there are 3 other people roaming around the house that might not realize and hit the switch, so safety first.

Second, every single one of the 12 we installed was on a dimmer switch, which is not good/unusable for a fan, so every dimmer had to be changed out for a different switch even if the fan didn't come with one (some did not, just remotes). Which definitely should have the breaker off, so why not leave it off for the whole fan?

And we did run extension cords all over, that was part of my annoyance. I spent less than a good extension cord for that work light, and now I have a cool fucking work light for use in other situations.

Been curious about them as well. Mostly want something for these goddamn lantern flies. Beating them with a broom is exhausting and they’re jumpy as fuck when I try to stomp them. Shooting them sounds like it’d be fun as fuck, though.

Do these things actually work or are they just a fancy toy? I've also been intrigued, but I always imagine the fly just shrugging it off after a direct hit and me being pissed.
They will kill a fly with a direct hit. Range is pretty limited though. You're not going to shoot them from across the room.A flyswatter is probably a better way to kill flies but not as fun.

I have a friend with one and he says it works, but excited to try it myself. We don't really have a huge fly problem but thought it'd be a fun toy to mess with and maybe 3d print some accessories and figure out what the possibilities are. Should be here tomorrow.

This board should get commission on sales for this thing the way everyone appears to be buying one now.

I get what I guess are called pantry moths because of the cat litter I use (it is actually baby chick feed), so I bought one of those electro-zapper tennis racket things, and the explosive zap crackle pop when I hit one with that is worth the money I spent on it. It literally obliterates them, and only little wisps and an occasional wing or leg float away. It works even better on mosquitos but I don't get many of those. Flies it does ok, but you usually send the body flying across the room when you forehand it.

Just make sure your foregrip is angled

I picked up a Zojirushi HCC10XH and have been pretty happy with it so far. I've been using my Blackstone more and more this summer for all kinds of things and wanted to try and up my fried rice game as well as use it for other stuff. So far so good but now I'm on the hunt for some good rice I can buy around here that's not your usual long grain stuff from Kroger. I did find some Calrose stuff at Costco, but I haven't used it yet. Japanese rice is fucking expensive and amazon is the only place I can find that atm.
