I rinsed my rice for years then I engaged critical thinking, experimented, and found 100% clear evidence it makes zero difference. Keep repeating what you read though, thats the key to being right!

Not to pile on, but using your own logic that it makes no appreciable difference to the flavor/texture, wouldn't you want to rinse it just to potentially clean off any contaminants like others are saying? It doesn't take long - maybe 30 seconds and you can rinse it within the vessel you're cooking with, so, it's not any extra clean up work.

If you are using a rice cooker,.most likely it is ptfe even tho it is pfoa, the Teflon "could" rub off with aggressive rice.washing "that why we have gay plastic rice washing bowls"

Fair point. I use this cooker for that reason. If you soak it for a couple of hours after cooking, it cleans up just as easily as non-stick, no scrubbing necessary.


Tougher to find with the Cadillac rice cookers it seems for whatever reason, but it produces a fine result and the only quality of life feature I feel I'm missing out on is a timed/remote start.

Okay I almost have my entry camping gear setup for the fam. I grew up camping a lot so I am looking forward to getting my kids on that train. I intend to touch grass in the near future a lot more than I have for the past decade working my ass off.

So far I have:
  1. Springbar tent.
  2. Partner Steel 2 burner mentioned earlier.
I need:
  1. Some cooking stuff
  2. Sleeping bags
  3. Fishing stuff later on.
But it won't take much longer to piece it all together. Car camping for now and progressing some as my kids get older.

I still remember camping with my dad all the time as a young kid. They are going to love it.

which is also why growing up i cooked rice the traditional pot way

but yea if mom comes over, sorry moms you only getting white rice (rice cooker), i ain't making that pot rice never again

Going with Wiggys due to being 1/3 the cost of any of the other goose down only stuff.
