I've still got my old technics record player. It's dope. Can still find styluses for it. I play vinyl pretty often. My kids got hooked. They all have their own record players and records. Love it.

This is what I've got. This isn't my pic, but it's the same one.

Heh! Did every household have this turntable?

My dad has an extensive vinyl collection. Like three whole walls worth, floor to ceiling. Room smells like you think it would smell.

The turntable is some shit he spent like 10k on. I never understood this...That's like spending 500 dollars on a damn toaster. You're just browning bread, spinning a record.

Bought these b/c the left stick rubber coating ripped on my PowerA wireless XBox controller. The realized I don't have the patience to take apart, remove the PCB, replace the whole stick, and put everything back together. Can I just buy the pads and stick them on? Don’t see why not but wasn’t sure if anyone else had a better version or method.

That's absolutely not true. There are many things on a turn table that can affect the sound. Now is a 10k turn table worth it? To me no.

Hey I agree but I've seen turn tables for a couple hundred thousand. So someone must think it's worth it.

Snagged an XXL glass mouse/desk pad. This thing is waaaaay smoother than I thought it would be. Tad bit expensive, but it really might be the last desk pad I buy.

How is it with the wrist/forearm sliding across it for extended gaming sessions? Aside from potential sweat issues (my computer room is much warmer than the rest of the house, of course), I could see it being a bit harsher than a cloth one like I have, but I'll probably have to buy another one in a year or two at this rate, whereas like you said, this is probably the last one you'd ever need. I see they have arm pads and shit; not really sure I want to have to gear up every time I use it, but I'm intrigued by the overall concept.

Honest question here not a dig, why still use mouse pads? I stopped entirely when the laser mouse came out that replaced those horrible ball mice. And never looked back. It was great in my professional life where I could just put the mouse on top of my drawings when doing take offs etc. For gaming I can use my desktop.

It depends on what your desktop is made out of, for one thing. If you really care about precise response and such (I don't really), an uneven surface is terrible. The more uniform the surface, the more precise your 360 noscopes will be, or something. But even without caring about games that much, most surfaces just suck for reliable mouse movement. Unetched glass is almost impossible to use, and a lot of corporate and/or home desktops are glass. So instead of buying a waifu titty mousepad that restricts you to a 6" space, people started buying larger cloth mats that do the same thing but give you a larger area, and then eventually ones that also go under your keyboard to prevent slipping, give you something slightly padded to rest your forearms on, or just look nice. A glass one with micro-etching is just the ultimate extension of all that (minus the soft padding), pretty much.
