I think it's a waste of time and detrimental to try and set hard rules for conversations like that. It's always going to be a judgement call on what intractable shitposting is regardless of how many rules you make.
My main problems with the Tanoomba RRP is that there was no report, mods were actively engaged in the conversation that lead to the RRP, and no "official" warning infraction was handed out prior to a 3 point infraction being given.
As far as I'm concerned, waiting for a report, letting amod decide action based on that report, and an appeals process is plenty sufficient without trying to write a conversation flow law book.

Two different issues, none of you like Tanoomba so you voted to not overturn it but several of you agree it was done incorrectly and should not have happened.
So stop doing things incorrectly putting you in situations that are indefensible.

When you give a warning follow the process. Public note on the post, message to the user, and 1 point per post.

You guys know I reported a post or two. I did that on purpose because maybe I was wrong. If you agreed there would be a paper trail in the logs.

It is different because now he is trying to be all hero of the people anti-moderation, but when it went down he didn't care, and voted to keep the RRP intact.
If he's going to publicly say "I didn't agree with how this went down" he also needs to make clear that he voted for it, he mocked Tanoomba at the time, and he told us at the time that he "didn't care and thought thats where he would end up anyway"
Leaving off all that extra info makes it sound like he was against this when he wasn't.
Thats why its different.
