You'll likely never read this, but don't take the "ditch her crazy ass" advice too seriously.

From what you said it sounds like you love her and were very seriously considering marrying her (unless you were bullshitting about wanting to buy a ring). It also sounds like she (at least in the past) loved you enough to also seriously consider marriage (talking about kids and the like). Now it's possible she actually did fall out of love with you (like she said), but its also possible she's confused and scared and not sure what the hell she's doing. If it's something she needs to figure out on her own, let her figure it out. If it's something she needs your support for, support her.

Now it's also entirely possible that she's bipolar or has borderline personality disorder. The peanut gallery will have you believe that the only reasonable choice either way is "get the fuck out and never look back", but I think you realize it's not that simple. Sometimes someone has issues, and if you truly care about that person it's something you end up working through together. Yes, it means additional challenges that not everyone will have to face in their relationship. Putting aside the fact that there's no such thing as an "easy" relationship, if you think you absolutely can not handle a girlfriend/wife/mother of your children who has mental health issues, then that's the end of that. But if you see it as just part of who she is, part of the bad that comes with the good but not something that's worth writing her off altogether for, then it may be worthwhile to discuss it with her and how it would affect your future together.

I'm definitely not saying that you should take her ass back every time she decides to temporarily dump you. Going through a "scared and confused" phase is one thing, but if it becomes a pattern then you'd seriously have to question whether both sides value the relationship equally and are equally willing to make it work. If she sees you as a plaything she can dispose of when you're not needed and pull off the shelf when she needs you again, that obviously won't lead to a healthy relationship. But if she loves you and truly wants to spend her life with you (obviously I'm just an outsider, but there were signs) and you feel the same way, then it might be worth the effort it takes to make the relationship work.

At the very least, don't assume any random strangers on the internet (including myself) have any idea what they're talking about when it comes to your relationship.

From the open letter in question:
