recently in another thread someone brought up pain and gain, was looking at it on imdb trying to figure out how much of it was a true story and saw this on the trivial page

Mark Wahlberg weighed in at 165 pounds before getting the role in this movie, and he had to be at least 200 pounds when filming would begin. He packed on over forty pounds of muscle in seven weeks for this role, weighing in at 212 pounds when filming began.

Mark is a very small man, and has extremely poor genetics for gaining muscle. That was all professional steroid cycling for that movie.

Reminder. Don't Google "synth oil muscle". Some people fucked themselves up.

that oil shit is old news. its been PMMA for the last 10 years solid now.

a different type of enhancement for a different type of result. PMMA looks good enough for people interested in that type of filler enhancement to actually get involved with, should that be their thing.

The synthol shit is 20 tiers below it.

it was new to me. i used to be interested in body building when i was growing up, but my bodybuilding days are long gone.

If you want to see a PMMA result vs synthol result. Check Rich Piana's arms. He was all PMMA.

The shape looks plausible and comic book in a good way. Synthol can't expand the muscle bellies like that in the proper directions. Also PMMA is considered a permanent filler, whereas synthol requires nonstop maintenance to keep the oil there.

I mean I remember Mark back when he was Marky Mark, and he had a really good physique back then

He seems like the kind of guy that the juice would enhance what he already has.

edit: I was saying he has good genetics for muscle gain naturally. That doesn’t exempt him from using PEDs though.
Do I believe he was on the juice for Pain and Gain? Yes

the film he did right after Pain and Gain, The Gambler, he lost a ton of weight and everyone was like “look how dedicated he is to changing his body,” and I’m like “yeah: it’s called cycling off”

I'm talking in the modern lens of Hollywood. Marky Mark ain't no Hemsworth brother or Cavill. His genetics are poor for bodybuilding.

You don't think a FOH member can't attain those gains at 18 in that photo with just extreme diet and intensive exercise?

He was propably on steroids back then. A quarter of my highschool football team were on steroids in 1999. Actually maybe more. All the jocks were obsessed with the movie " The Program"

The intensity level of those guys on the bus going to a game ill never forget. it was hilarious

i think it mightve been something like rogan and mma brendan shaub saying "what if" you had a hollywood role to look jacked to the gills, sign me up, give me whatever hugh is on, b/c in hollywood it's your job to look good, something like that.

Basically. Ashton Ku][cher prescription leaked for hairloss medication. The most fringe treatment, not just your run of the mill Propecia.

He's on the "holy shit I want absolutely no chance of my baldness progressing, ever" stuff. To move past Propecia and get on a hardcore anti-androgen like that, he must have had a real freakout. An anti-androgen of that nature would be likened more to transgender drugs. When looks are your livelihood, dick working is secondary.

You defiantly don't need steroids to get in the shape that Marky Mark was in, in that picture. Just a ton of exercise and a restrictive diet.

As for your HS team, did you personally know people were juicing or that's just an off the wall guess, because a quarter of the team sounds high, for high school.

If you are just judging it by the stupid game day bullshit, then it may have given the wrong impression and I would doubt all those theatrics of the bus ride had that much to do with emulating the movie (The Program). The pregame hype is just part of the game and has been cultivated by coaches for decades. I am sure it is in every handbook on how you are supposed to run your team. Football coaches have a bunch of resources that shape the overall way the game is run in the US.

I played for two different HS football teams around the same time and the pregame stuff was about the same. Some kids were into that shit, some weren't, but the coaches wouldn't stop going on about "getting hyped" until they felt the team was loud enough. If moral was poor before the game (not enough hype), the team paid for it on Monday, with a hard practice.

Yes i was friends with them i just played fullback so i mainly just had to do easy blocks, atleast 13 of the starters juiced mostly defense guys. They all had bipolar attitudes

That's crazy, musta been a rich school close to mexico to afford all that... or I guess maybe they didn't have a gaming hobby that took all their money...

Regular school, we dont have state championships in california in but we won conference every year and made it to state championship in basketball at arco. Most of us had wealthy family now that i think about it, parents were always gone on weekends so always had keggers. Pretty sure if everyone had newish cars at 17 they could afford steroid'

To clarify again:

I posted that pic of Marky Mark because i was showing the dude does not have bad genetics for muscle gain: he already had a good body when he was young and PEDs would further enhance that.

Yeah, they're responding to someone else saying he has bad genetics. I don't know there's evidence that's true except his height.

He probably did/does juice but it's not like me was lean or cut in no pain no gain.

i mean he's always been in pretty decent shape. i think the "he's got bad genetics" is... well, i don't know. BUT it's important to note that while he might not necessarily have the kind of frame that would easily accommodate heavy muscle weight gain, the camera adds weight that isn't actually there. also genetics count for a good starting place, however you treat your body, it makes it easier to maintain that shape. if you sit and eat donuts on the couch all day, all the good genetics in the world aren't going to keep you out of being a donut shape. and if you have awful genetics, but you make a lifestyle of eating well and working out regularly, then you're going to look like you are in good athletic shape.

but really... this is a stupid conversation. i don't really care what actors decide to do to their bodies for the sake of vanity.

goddammit, will this be the second MCU movie not fit for children?

I will not expose my children to degenerate gay shit no matter what movies they put it in. Fuckin sucks, Thor was probably our favorite MCU character.

MCU is dead, it died the moment Perlmutter was no longer holding back Feige's woke horseshit.

This movie will have some cool/funny parts to it, but overall it will leave you feeling sick and dirty for watching it.

Literally the only thing in that article about anything gay is referencing a comment from 2020 where he said he wanted to make Valkyrie explicitly queer. You're just assuming all the weird and crazy and uncomfortable shit he's talking about is going to be full on homosexual pornography.
