Dude based on your post history, you are the biggest closeted homosexual to ever post on this forum. I appreciate your worry about my T levels but I don't need faggots to worry about that for me.
You just described all the bb.com refugees

I'm some random guy on the internet with a reading hobby. As you seem to be a self important angry Joe white knighting someone you've never met whose books you've never read. Take your righteous anger down a notch before you pop a blood vessel. It's just a movie review thread.

You are random guy on the internet with a shitty take. I don't know if his book is good or not, but I do know is that your shitty take was based on your friends reviews which makes it worthless. I was simply pointing out that your friends probably have terrible taste in books so their second hand take from your random ass is not worth an ounce of consideration.

You don't know this, but the fact that only Xevy Xevy reacted favorably to your post is an even better indication that it is worthless since his opinions are consistently bottom tier.

It is the equivalent of chick lit beach read writing, but for men. Just look how quickly he churns it out. I read two of the books and it's miles away from anyone like Tom Clancy.

I imagine he writes better than most people since most people do not write but that doesn't mean it's good writing compared to others who make their livelihood off of writing.

That's my only dog in this fight. I probably won't watch this movie until I'm bored one night two years from now.

4 people in this thread have already seen it and said it was pretty damn good. On the other hand we have someone who makes their living base don hating everyhitng.

Tbh based on his "review" I am not entirely convinced he went and watched and and thought he could wing a video. Based on his Andor S2 review I am not sure he understands writing at all tbh.
No. His review is pretty fucking spot on.
I didn't give a flying fuck about any of the characters. I gave this a shot thinking maybe, just MAYBE, this will be good and though it was slightly better than most of the shit they've released in half a fucking decade, this is still a shit fucking movie. Still just Disney slop and it's VERY apparent.

"But Thunderbolts does demonstrate Marvel Studios‘ diminished event status at the box office. Should projections hold, the new release will land one of the lower openings of the MCU. It’ll also likely fall below the opening of “Black Widow” ($80 million), which starred original Avenger Scarlett Johansson and introduced “Thunderbolts*” stars Florence Pugh and David Harbour.

In terms of recent comps, “Thunderbolts*” is pacing behind Disney’s previous Marvel outing, “Captain America: Brave New World,” which flew to a $40.9 million opening day back in February, on its way to an $88 million three-day. That movie had more brand recognition with the “Captain America” moniker, but also had bad reviews and a rough reception among fans. It finished its run with a meagre 2.2x multiplier, ending up at $200 million in North America."

So it's tracking behind two of the worst Marvel movies. Black Widow and Captain Black America.

Also I agree with the statement. One of the best is a stupid tagline. All it has to be is better than a few other movies, which it is. The following movies I think it is better than..

1. Kraven
2. Madame Web
3. Morbius
4. Captain America : Brave New World
5. The Marvels
6. Wakanda Forever
7. Antman and the Wasp
8. Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness
9. Thor Love and Thunder
10. Eternals
11. Shang Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings
12. Captain Marvel
13. Thor The Dark World
14. Iron Man 3
15. Black Panther
16. Black Widow
17. The Incredible Hulk

Just to name a few. There are some that I would rate even with this movie. So yes, it is one of the best. It is not THE best. That is still reserved for Captain America Winter Soldier.
First 3 are Sony movies. They are not Marvel, even if the characters originated in the Marvel Comics. Has nothing at all to do with the movies.

"One of the best of all time" would imply top 3 to most people, not bottom half. There are 35 marvel movies. Yes many of them are straight garbage. Like this one.

Movie was just meh to alright. Not bad. Not great. Characters meshed together well enough. Story was meh to dumb. Villain was meh to dumb. JLD looks like she wore an old mask made from foreskins.

It was vastly better than nearly everything MCU since endgame...which still isn't saying much. These are still characters no one cares about, and they could have gotten rid of everyone but Thrift Store Black Widow and it would have made the movie better. This is not a good result in a Team Up Film.

I didn't regret watching the film, like I did after the Marvels, Captain marvel, The externals, Not Captain America BNW, Thor Four, Anything Ant Man, Black Panfers, Doctored Stranges, Shang Li Chi I have Seen Twice and Still Haven't Seen It. Half the Iron Mans, Most of the Thors.

This movie doesn't sink to the bottom because the bottom is filled with a lot of shit, and further proof they need to call it a day on the MCU.

I dunno its pretty close.

Fantastic, I dont give a fuck about any of em. The only one I can stand is RLM and I can almost promise they wont do a review on this cause they just dont care. Hate watching everything for views or being toxically positive on everything to shill is all the same to me.

Sentry is cool. The Void is cool. Movie is generally getting good reviews and strong audience scores and 4-5 people in the thread liked it. Cool Ill go see it.

Btw Angryjoe apparently thinks the Sentry is a ripoff of Superman and cant comprehend his motivations, actions, or weaknesses. Sounds like a failure to understand writing to me lol.
Um, about that

I know this is the internet and I don't keep track of the personalities on this board so if you are one of the rage trolls, congratulations and bravo. If this is just you, it's just sad. Either way, I hope you have a nice day.

black widow and captain black america aren't super fair comps. The budget for black widow was close to $300m vs $150m for thunderbolts. It was also released day and date on Disney+ $30 (more?) rental post pandemic and had a massive steep dropoff. Same for Captain America 4, which also had a much higher budget - $180m officially, up to $380m unofficially.

end of the day this movie will easily be in the black (profitable) within 2-3 weeks, its a relatively cheap and unknown cast and a group no one knows or cares about so best comp is GOTG1, which its behind but that movie had a bigger budget too and it was a different box office time in 2014. If Thunderbolts can help the momentum of F4 I think Marvel chalks these numbers up to a win.

original estimates also were $60m opening weekend so its doing much better than they predicted. Its also doing much better than The Marvels, which opened to $46m dom and had a $270m budget. Thunderbolts also has pretty much the box office to itself until May 23d when the next mission impossible is out.

That is unfortunately where I thought it would end up. Straight dollar comparisons are potentially misleading given that The Incredible Hulk was nearly two decades ago, and inflation isn't flat between industries. Throwing their values into the CPI Inflation Calculator Consumer Price Index calculator, and you get in March 2025 dollars (the last period available) the following launches:

Movie - Release Date - Raw Opening - CPI Inflation Adjusted to 3/25
Marvels - 11/20/23 - 46.1 - 48.0
T Bolts - 5/2/25 - 76.0 - 76.0
Ant-Man - 7/17/15 - 57.2 - 76.7
Inc Hulk - 6/13/08 - 55.4 - 81.0
Eternals - 11/5/21 - 71.3 - 82.0
Shang Chi - 9/3/21 - 75.4 - 87.9
Cap Falc - 2/14/25 - 88.8 - 89.0
Cap Am 1 - 7/22/11 - 65.1 - 92.2
Thor 1 - 5/6/11 - 65.7 - 93.0
Bla Widow - 7/9/21 - 80.4 - 94.2
Ant-Man 2 - 7/6/18 - 75.8 - 96.2
Dr Str 1 - 11/4/16 - 85.1 - 112.8
Thor 2 - 11/8/13 - 85.7 - 117.6

That's not to say a $76M opening can't eventually be profitable (and likely will be in this case), but your budget needs to be kept in check (the cheap cast certainly helped as well). The days of Marvel getting to say 'Screw it, we'll refilm half the movie in reshoots, we've got the money for it" are over for everything but the blockbusters.
