Tool might eventually release a new album someday

Fine. If blowing trannies is a thing that's easier for you to relate to than cooking steaks, I'll try an analogy that's hopefully easier for you to swallow. Rezz's Tool/APC comparison looks like an appropriate example too. So here goes...

Rezz's comment equating Tool to APC can pretty easily be interpreted as extreme musical ignorance (or apathy? either one works). In this case, the comparison between the two bands is tantamount to saying "I don't even care whether the tranny I'm banging is pre or post op. As long as he's got a big 'ol pair of titties and a hairy ass crack, I'm going to town." Fortunately, Rezz clearly stated his opinion in the form of an opinion, so the only people that are going to take his comparison personally are basically mongoloids anyway. More reasonable people are going to accept Rezz's opinion for what it is, and then never ever ask him for advice about strip clubs and escort services.
The time signatures alone are enough to completely differentiate the two.

This is splendid news. I can't wait to see what this album is like.

Because the retard that started this flame fest (which attracted a_skeleton_03 to troll like a fly to shit) stated his opinion as an objective reality. He doesn't like Lateralus personally? Fine. However he doesn't get to say "they tried to hide mediocre song writing by having longer songs" and not qualify that with "in my opinion" and not expect some blowback. I would say the same thing for someone hating on Bieber or some such. It's ... all ... opinion.

PS. @ a_skeleton_03 .. go read up on the Fibonacci sequence and then re-read the lyrics to Lateralus.
You are a whiny bitch aren't you?

If someone isn't a tool fan they HAVE TO BE TROLLING!

Or, or, or, oooorrrrr they might not like Tool at all.....

No, I said they are the same in my head thanks to the vocals, because Maynard has one of the most recognizable voices in music. I then clarified that I enjoy both bands quite a bit (if you don't hear similarities between the bands, you are functionally deaf) and want to hear more from a band that has created music I have enjoyed since the 90s.

Sorry if you didn't enjoy the last Tool Album/Albums and they raped your mom/boyfriend/whatever. But please, continue being an asshole til more music you enjoy gets released.

The only similarity between Tool and APC is Maynard's voice. They're different in just about every other aspect except maybe lyrical content.

I really wish I didn't need to be so graphic, but I guess some people just need things spelled out for them. Tool is the tranny that still has a raging hard cock and a gigantic ball sack full of jism ready to spray all over your eager face. APC, on the other hand, is no longer in possession of their manhood, but instead has been taking estrogen treatments to make them soft and weak like girls.

Some of us pay attention to "little details" like that when we listen to music. I recognize that ~50% of the population is below average though, and it's probably not even your fault that you're blissfully ignorant.

I think there is some crossover between Adam and Billy's lead styles. As a whole you're right though. Different bands.

10,000 Days is their only album that I can hear at any time and just let play. The other stuff just kinda gets boring after a minute or two. Listened to a Joe Rogan podcast with Maynard as the guest, he seems like a pretty interesting dude.

Tool's Undertow and Aenima are 2 of my Top 10 all time albums. Possibly Top 5. Such amazingness.

A Perfect Circle's first album was great too.

I'll give this a listen but Maynard's definitely moved on from the industrial post hardcore so I can't say I'd be a giant fan of his new stuff, but I'm still giving him my money purely on respect 20 years later.
You prefer Mer de Noms to Thirteenth Step? And Undertow to Lateralus?

Strange taste in music. Guess you like the more lo-fi, straight ahead rock than the progressive shit they veered towards.

Aenima > Lateralus > 10,000 Days, but this all changes from mood to mood. I remember HATING 10,000 Days all throughout high school, and then one day it was fucking pouring out and I was on the lightrail to school and "10,000 Days (Wings Part 2)" came on and everything just clicked. IT was definitely an album I had to play repeatedly to finally enjoy, but it's got a lot of gems.

Rosetta Stoned is probably one of the best songs they've ever written, along with Right in Two.

Also, Salival's Pushit > Aenima's Pushit. Just sayin'.

Duh.

Undertow's only blemish is the lo-fi recording. That's my favorite Tool album by a good margin. If that album had higher quality production my boner would probably bust through my desk.

If the world was right and just, when the Salival version of Pushit came on, the lights would shut off, my recliner would go all the way back, and everyone would vanish around me. I would close my eyes, just meditate for the next 14 minutes. I've literally, as we all have, heard songs for decades, of every genre, quality, and make.

To this day, it is still the best song I have ever heard in my life. So much that I don't even know was second place would be. It transcends music into something beyond beautiful and holy.

Now if we could just get them to tour together...

Luckily, I did get to see A Perfect Circle open for NIN about a decade ago(first APC album, The Fragile NIN tour), that's probably as close as I'll ever get. Show was badass, obviously,

Trying to decipher the August Tool newsletter has led me to conclude that the band has arranged and composed most of the music and passed it all along to MJK for lyric/vocal work.
