Zero skill here. However, I am considering installing Sickbeard in my download directory just so it will auto-organize anything that gets downloaded. Not sure if it can differentiate between movies and TV shows in the same download directory though.

I get that Sickbeard might be able to do it all including the downloading, but I am happy with my seedbox now that I have BT Sync working on it. And I can manage my seedbox/add torrents from work so that's convenient (I'm sure Sickbeard does that too, but I already know how to do it this way).

Hey guys, any of you all a member of a torrent site called brokenstones by chance? Trying to download Mac apps and that's by far the best bet.

Oh I don't blame you for sticking to your current system. I know of a few people who use sickbeard only for episode management.

There is a different tool for movies called Couchpotato and one for music called Headphones.

They are all python based and run as a light web client you can control remotely.

Webop still works fine for me. I rarely download anything from it anymore, because it is 80% shemale crap now, but it still works just fine. Did they cancel your account maybe?

If the wife might be interested in it, I sure as hell ain't going to try to peddle some pixelated streaming porn. Also, the variety and amount of content on torrent sites is much much better than what you can find on streaming sites.

It does recognize movies versus TV shows. Movies never get touched in my experience, and the TV shows will all get organized.

My set up consists of 8tb file server full of movies and various TV shows( I delete tv Shows not movies ) Streaming to intel NUC in the Living room, a NUC in my bed room, two Vizio Smart TVs using Crash player and one Minix Neo X7 in my office.

I manually download my torrents, manually rename, and categorize them in whatever folder.. Only recently I have been looking into more automation and since I finally got an invite to a Big Boy private tracker over the weekend I am also looking into getting a seed box.

I have read through most of this thread good read gentlemen....

Wow, that is a lot of work that could be saved by using Newsgroups + SickBeard + CouchPotato.

Those programs do not get media to my devices..
Having a centralized spot to stream all my media to 4 tvs isn't hard to set up ..

As for looking, downloading, renaming, and filing yes that is a little tedious.

Do not get media to your devices? What do you mean by that? You can setup Sickbeard to rename and move files to whatever folder you want. Put that folder on your server somewhere? Sounds pretty simple.

Thats not what I meant..... I meant setting up my house hold with the physical devices on my network wasn't a lot of work, however the organizing of media was.. As I previously said I am looking into the above software and configuring it on my server now so its a moot point

I have a Synology DS1513+ running 5 drives at 4TB each in RAID 6. It runs Sickbeard/SabNZBD/CouchPotato for media retrieval and organization. I have Plex Media Server running on it to stream to all the devices that support that and NFS share for my XBMC installed on my NUC.

Quite a good setup, I think you will have fun after you get it all up and running.

I have around 8TBs of 8gb+ MKVs of HD movies and TV shows/seasons. My house hold doesn't subscribe to any TV service, and rely on netflix and our media server streaming to two intel NUC devices in my house. Other TVs in my household are vizio smart TVs and use a combo of Plex and Crash-player( vizio community app to interface with Plex server ) to stream from my media server. I have been tinkering with home media since about 2012 or so only recenlty investigating more way to automate my system for ease of use. We are about to move to a new house in the not to distant future and I am looking forward to incorporating home automation into my system.

Before my NUCs I had two Minix Neo X7s and while they worked for the most part they were nto very turn key friendly so I went with NUCs running Windows 8.1 and XBMC.

Yeah you and I are like minded. I am hoping to build more into my network as well. I have the Intel NUC with 8.1 / XBMC also with a Harmony Touch for my main media room. I have Roku's everywhere else with Plex taking care of them.

Next thing I want to do is integrate backlighting for my TV integrated into XBMC. I also need to get my XBMC running Netflix better to swap back and forth from that and XBMC with just a button press for the wife to be able to do it.

I have Netflix and don't use it ... at all. I do it for the guilt factor that at least I am paying for something. All my shows and movies I automate.

I hate hi-jacking this thread more... but yeah I am in the same boat.. We have netflix solely for the kids to watch cartoons.. Other than that the TV shows I pull down are mostly for Wife and I to watch.. On the NUCs I am using solely the Metro interface with huge custom Charms/Icons on the front end for Netflix, XBMC and then Desktop ( though I have nothing on the Desktop and all Icons are hidden) I was using the Netflix app from the windows store but for some reason which I haven't been able to figure out, it started to Crash when it would get to 100% of loading a video and I would have to physically reboot the device. So instead I removed it and started to to use Chrome for Netflix which is annoying because it was not as slick as the App. I thinking about purchasing PlayON (PlayOn | Watch Online Shows, Movies on Your TV, Smartphone and More | PlayOn | PlayOn) which will make life a lot easier for adding netflix to XBMC...
Finally the business I am in I can get my hands on decent hardware for cheap/free A customer of mine Recently purchased a Dell T110 server for a new office he was opening but the building was struck by lightning .. So a lot of the hardware in this office was fried except the server. Insurance gave him funds for a new one and Asked me to dispose this one.. and By dispose he meant I could have it. So I added 3TB to it and 8 gigs of memory.. I may slap Server2012 on it and use it for a DVR... Kinda over kill but what ever.. I really don't know what to do with it yet.

Soo I bit the bullet after installing couch potato and Sick beard on my server and set up a usenet provider and nzb indexer .. so far I like it....I instantly get better connections than my hdbits private tracker and eliminated the need for a seed box now.
