Legacy had bad timing. Disney in part greenlit Tron: Legacy because they were still trying to get a dedicated young male fanbase, much in the way they had a dedicated young female fanbase with all the princess stuff.

But while it was still being produced, Disney bought Marvel. Then a couple years later, they bought Lucasfilm/Starwars. That heavily diminished the urgency to greenlight a Tron: Legacy follow-up (beyond the Tron cartoon they did, which didn't exactly have insane ratings), especially with the significantly more profitable Marvel/Star Wars offerings which provided the very thing Tron set out to do: secure a dedicated young male fanbase.

I'll watch it when it comes out on VOD. I was never going to watch it in a theater anyhow. Still disappointed to hear it's shit.

I remember the original movie, those fluorescent colors in the dark theater gave 12 year old me a splitting headache.

Yup it’s this bad. My daughter loves everything TRON- original, legacy, revolutions…and she didn’t like this at all. It’s all around bad. Saw it tonight.

Everything you knew from Legacy is gone.

Encom was formed by the Dillingers. Then taken over by Alan and Flynn after Tron one. In legacy you see Edward Dillinger is the creator of Flynn/ Encom software - that’s gone. Now Dillingers have their own company, throwing away all the history from the first Tron and legacy. They have a new Dillinger and their own entire company.

The grid you saw in legacy is gone. Doesn’t exist. Sam Flynn, who is supposed to change the world has left because of personal reasons. Literally that’s it. You get a little intro saying he left for personal reasons and now the company is in charge of the twin Tough independent Asian females. No mention of Kora, ISOs, CLU, nothing. The original grid on servers isn’t even mentioned, they literally are using floppy drives to figure out what Kevin Flynn was thinking of.

This is a Tron movie, without Tron. Can’t say anymore. Tron has nothing to do with this movie.

The movie meanders , has no real purpose, and you don’t really care about any of the actors whatsoever. They couldn’t have picked an uglier woman to play Athena if they tried. The killer bots are all wymen, and the white guy is the bad guy

Leto does a fair job. NIN is good but Daft Punk is better. There aren’t any character you really care about like Kora, GEM, CASTOR, etc in this

They’ve ruined another IP. Honestly how can Disney continually keep fucking up everything

Tron was a cool video game back in the day but the movies have always been kinda derivative and dumb.

Movie was pretty bad but the family loved the 4DX, it makes for a better roller coaster ride than a movie. I don't feel the need to ever watch this again, while Legacy was worth a re-watch from time to time. I will be downloading the soundtrack.

4DX was way too distracting and not worth the price. Me and the mini-fish hated the experience.
It is super distracting but that is kind of the point. This movie would have been insufferable but for the distractions.

Fuck, I knew I recognized her from somewhere. She was that voodoo cunt from Bad Monkey. I literally called her a stupid cunt every single time she was on screen, I hated her so much.

how many movies this year was it actually worth going to theaters for? F1 is the only one i can think of thats new. I liked Sinners in theaters but its the same experience at home honestly (WE WUZ KANGZ N SHEEIT). It was cool seeing Jaws and Raiders of the Last Ark in theaters but not new.

Weapons, Fantastic Four, Superman, Thunderbolts, etc were all decent movies but all were just fine at home, the theater didn't really add much. Only one I am excited for next year is Odysseus.

Demon Slayer movie was about the only one that lived up to theater quality
