That was the cringiest thing I've ever listened to, but the cringiest part was the girl saying "just ask chat" or whatever. There is a time to just shut it off...

Had to clear cache and cookies for twitch since the stream quality kept going nuts and switching (gear was always spinning). Seems to have fixed the issue.

What happened to Summit? He was gone for awhile, now he's back streaming but his face looks like meth addict.

Well, he used to be one of the biggest streamers on twitch and now he's a washed up streamer pulling in a measly ~15k viewers. Obviously 15k is still insane but I think he used to average like 25k at some point and losing so many viewers took a toll on him. May be it was the influx of younger/"more talented" fortnite streamers, may be it was his association with ScamOG, may be he lost some weight and his giant head makes him look more strung out than usual.

He was rocking ~35k viewers then had a meltdown when he streamed with one of the Paul brothers, his view count hasnt recovered. A couple of months ago he said he was almost back up to his regular sub count, 25k.

Ya, Summit isn't struggling. He probably still makes million or close to that a year between subs, donations, ads, and sponsorships still.

How is this Casino channel near the top of viewed channels? It's gotta be bots right? I was thinking sodapoppin was playing again but these are just no-name degenerates with 1000s of viewers watching virtual slots.

He was super bummed for a long time because new streamers kept popping up like Shroud etc that would steal HIS viewership for games (H1Z1, PUBG, etc) and their sub counts was way higher than he even thought was possible. When he hit 28k he said he'll never hit it again, and he probably won't. Then he was having a hard time in games due to stream snipers and general frusration.

Then he got a girlfriend (lilchipmunk or something) so she took his time from streaming. Then he was sick for like months with some stomach thing. Then he never got motivated to stream after basically not streaming for like an entire month. His sub was down to like 8k. He's now steadily building back up, but he's still having health issues or something.

I've been streaming a bit lately doing a survival challenge thing where I start at level 1 on a lava world in empyrion. You get out of the pod and it's 300 degrees and you have nothing. It's tough. I burned to death alot, but it was entertaining.

Once I made it into orbit it got rather dull though. With most of the survival stuff I like the surviving bit only lasts the first few minutes.

It got me looking into twitch extensions. There are a few games that would be really cool if viewers could "do stuff". Like throw buffs or debuffs at you or gear. I could do it in empyrion as it has a plugin architecture going. I wrote one to do a simple hacky permadeath that restarts you if you die.

So I've been trying to think of a cool game to do in an interactive way like that. I don't talk or do the whole stream of consciousness blather that streamers do, so viewer funbuttons would help with my total lack of personality.

Survival games are an obvious candidate. Also I was thinking an elderscrolls like tying into open morrowind. Skyrim would be cool but I'm not sure how I'd connect it to the extension stuff. Maybe an xcom thing where viewers could give a % boost or penalty to the next shot? I dunno! Give me ideas so that I might steal them.

There are a bunch of games that do this that you can look at for ideas. The big problem is that twitch viewers will always give you the penalties/worst options.

Yea I was thinking a points system with the cheaper stuff having a more random element. So if you spent alot of your points you could get a specific thing, like an ambush of cliff racers.

Vermintide 2 does the twitch interaction thing nicely enough. Basically every minute(or less if you set it up), there's an A/B vote for Twitch that will do 2 things. The things are picked randomly although there's some sort of rules to prevent too stupid shit. Generally twitch chat will always pick the "bad" thing like spawning a horde or spawning a rat ogre but sometimes depending on the situation they'll give good stuff to people too to see if they can get further. It's generally just a harder mode and the good streamers will play with the minimum timer and still complete maps with twitch chat just chain spawning additional garbage on them, it's pretty fun.

I was thinking about this too, but it would be dependent upon the chat and what mode you have enabled, etc. The only way that I can think of to do this is to write your own game, and the only way of I can think of to that is to open source it. That way anybody who wants to write a game for twitch can. Maybe have a +3 sword but with a -20% crit. But see, that's a problem too. Most people are either one way or the other. Everybody wants to see you succeed beyond your wildest dreams or they wanna see you fail miserably.

The only way I can see around that is to have an AI that goes against whatever the channel decides to go with for the second option.

It is rather a tricky one, I'll tell ya that.
