Crone Crone they don't recommend VR for kids under 12. Something about eye development. Talk to your eye doctor about it.

i have a rift too, altho haven't turned it on in six months. first, its a pain in the ass to setup with all its cables (it requires a fuckton of USB ports) so set aside 2-3 hours for that shit, plus all the sensor stuff and calibrating.

second, almost everything on the rift store is ALSO on the steam store and your preference should be the latter, just because usually its split bases for MP games plus in the future if you move to a different VR platform it'd still work on steam whereas oculus store will always be rift. I only buy stuff on the oculus store if its oculus exclusive

i never really found a game on oculus that really wowed me but yeah stuff like beat saber, elite dangerous, etc are fine. also be careful with porn, it takes a while to fiddle around with the player settings to make things look halfway decent but also most VR porn tends to be "holy shit this giant woman is showing me her pussy, this is scary as fuck".

VRChat is really fun and virtual desktop is great, lets you run pretty much anything inside the headset

Beat Saber is going to end up being my first 100% game ever. I turned on the any mistake = fail option and I'm working through all the songs and up the difficulty. About halfway through Hard now.

I think $100 Bills on hard is my favorite so far. Just a really good rhythm. Legend, too.

The jury is still out on whether or not VR has more impact on eye development than other screens. As a general rule of thumb, kids should be taking breaks between long screen sessions to allow their eyes to focus on things of varying distances/depths. This is true for all screens, but perhaps more true for VR screens.

Escape so far is my favorite, somewhat disappointed in the set list overall for PS4 but hoping it grows with the holiday sales. Who knows. And I can really tell a difference in my position vs the camera after a few songs. Start dropping stuff and have to reset screen position and where I’m standing. Oh and fuck the maximum hand movement distance campaign levels. Stupid ass idea.

Yea I have to assume they're going to start cranking out content now that it's getting so popular. I actually like that KDA league of legends song that just came out.

I've only gone two or three levels deep in the campaign, going to play with that tonight

So last night some college kids/recent grads came over because we rock as old cool parents. 😜 a couple never tried VR before. So I took it easy on them and threw them in the kitchen demo 👍🍺😂.

Oh my God was that some hilarious viewing.

Don't know if it's available on other platforms (I have the Vive) but I highly recommend Google Earth VR, it's hugely fun flying around exploring the world. You can now use streetview too, as well as 360 degree fotos around the world (some better quality than others though). It's free.

Waltz of the Wizard is great for kids and also free.

For porn I recommend CzechVR, they seem to have the best handle on the production currently. Doesn't take much to ruin a scene (shaky cam, perspective problems etc make it hard to watch)

Wife still in the hospital but I came home and hooked this up a few min ago. Waiting for the motion controllers to charge up so I can try Beat Saber before I hit the sack.

I assume the aim controller works with Borderlands? I'm gonna try it with the motion sticks first and see how I like it, if I end up picking up Farpoint then I'll def get the Aim controller as well.

Pretty excited to give this a go.

Think I read somewhere that the aim controller does not work with Borderlands

Oh, well thats good then. For some reason that'll make me feel better about not wondering what I'm missing.

I wonder if it has something to do with that you can swap out duel wield and use melee and so on and the aim isn't capable of doing that stuff?

I dunno, either way, I'm not pressured to spend more for now and I'm happy with that.
