Everyone should hate Damon Lindelof because magic doesn't explain everything (L O S T) and abusing elder people is bad (Prometheus).
On the other hand, he did The Leftovers, which is a solid, good TV show. Maybe he'll redeem himself with Watchmen.

I'd bet on it. They are going to make exactly the wrong point with the writing compared to the graphic novel. This is a very safe bet and if I cared enough to have a avatar I'd bet it.

Watchmen was a great movie and very true to the source material. Even the end with Doctor Manhattan abandoning humanity and the galaxy, Ozymandias' plan working and Rohrschach's Journal out there to tell the truth is a decent setup into exploring more in a world with psychotic superheroes.
However... I just don't see them not totally fucking this up.

I really liked the watchmen movie (other than the ending) and was exciting to see the series. Until, you know, I found out that Lindelof decided to skull-fuck the property to make it about something almost completely unrelated to anything addressed in the original continuity. Bat Man is a socialist air conditioner repair man, James Bond is now a baker who moonlights as birthday party strip dancer, Spiderman is now about Peter Parker, costumed bodaga owner with the backdrop of the cut-throat competition between convenience stores in Queens and Watchmen is now about White Supremacy, all in the same continuity.
