Didnt find my shitbox 3rd backup car yet, took a break for a month while I mess w/ how far I want to modify the mustang.

Decent deals on AWD few and far between and my concern is ice not snow , so I think AWD less important than it was in colorado 10" blizzards.

Like no good priced corolla/civic other common shitboxes, but I've seen a few focus hatchbacks including flex fuel so I can run E85 which is a lot cheaper, and for a shitbox I'm less caring if it eats it up quicker. Red one seems like better deal for miles but I dont think has Flex fuel. Anyone have any focus input other than boring and according to a friend shit transmission (longevity or shift characteristics I;m not sure what he meant) test drove this black one and it at least could get going decent enough I wont want to kill myself getting on the highway.

The only awd I've seen I might consider is this Fusion Titanium with bells and whistles? But I thought I remember hearing about more issues. Many awd options locally are jumping into 18-20 mpg biggish suvs that do nothing for me.

I swear shopping bottom of market used cars is more frazzling not eating a grenade than buying something nice.

Tires > awd/4wd.
For sure, there were times when I was driving down mountain roads with thick snow with much less trouble in my little Toyota Corolla with Blizzak tires than many suvs/4wd cars that were sliding around trying to get down.

Marketing is probably behind the misnomer that SUVs handle snow better than smaller cars, and 4wd certainly won't help coasting/braking downhill. Tires are the real concern for snow.

Even with just all season tires; snow isn't too bad until the tread gets worn, unless that snow's really deep.

Steep rural drive way shaded and OK gets more ice than snow

OK might be like Texas, in that the stores don't stock much salt. So good luck buying enough to do a rural driveway multiple times a year, plus the costs start adding up.

Need real ground clearance for loose snow, many CUV/SUVs barely have more ground clearance than a sedan. Doesn't take much to get stuck, once it starts lifting the floor pan off the ground you're done.

Best part of Dealy plaza is the white X"s painted on the street where JFK ate the bullets. I was shocked when I saw them.

I just drive a Chevy Colorado, but I bought my son a Veloster that he absolutely loves. I live vicariously through my kid, so I’m glad I’m able to get him a car I would have killed for at his age. These are pics he took in his own little photo shoot.
