The air tag thing was on my menu, just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Its actually a pretty nice area where the donation center is and as I said It was at 7 am (when I went in). Just didnt really expect anyone who was a worthless piece of shit to be awake at that time. Live and learn. Only upside is that I did indeed have bicycle insurance and have a claim in with them now.

Side note: when talking to the police I was informed that everything had to be done manually as the whole city was under a cyber attack, seems its the same people who have hit Ascension Healthcare (where my daughter works).

Judging by the sound of that area you live in, if you drive around there at 4-5 am, you'll probably see a ton of 'teens' that have been up all night with no responsibilities. So don't be too surprised when the useless people are around at 7am with no job to go to lol

With stolen bikes you just have to hope the guy crashed on the way to a the local outdoor basketball court.

I had a nice mountain bike stolen I was only leaving locked up outside because it had a crack in the frame right by the seat post and was getting dangerous. Hoping that dude neutered himself when it finally broke. Or if it didn't kill him, at least rectum.

Well I lived, passed a mile north.

But fate worse than death, internet and power still out. My automatic transfer switch on generator still has not working right so I'm having to manually flip a bunch of switches to run the big generator which is finally earning its keep so I don't lose the deep freeze of meat

Glad you’re okay! Last night was wild. I went to bed after 4est and there were still cells pooping out tornados.

Heh, watched that live. That dude was a fucking idiot during this.
No idea who that was, but it is too bad he didn't get killed. Unless there is some sort of exception to traffic laws there that allows him to just completely ignore all of them during a tornado? Fucker blew through multiple red lights at the very least, aside from all the other reckless driving.

Have a very early morning storm roll through... 80 MPH straight line winds... Exactly like the storm that ripped up our own enclosed patio room a while back (see home improvement thread for pics).. Terrifying the wife and animals.... multiple huge trees up and down our street laying on their sides after (pity too, some were 50+ year olds..)

We make it through, I'm only mildly miffed I was woke up way early by it. THen 30 minutes after it's a mild light spring rain..... and the power goes out. Out across massive swaths of N. Texas.. No estimate on when it will be back up.

Same day, we have to go pick up the wife's car from getting a new fuel pump... $1,200 there....

And it's the day before our anniversary and it's screwing up every manner of our plans already.....

SOmewhere something is trying again to see how close they can get me to snapping.....

Wife's car had the AC go out.
Take it to dealer, needs a new rear evaporator core somesuchshit (wtf is there an evaporator core somesuchshit in a SUV?)
Get it fixed in January before it gets hot ($1,900)
4 months later , no AC
take back to same dealer
same issue same parts , warranty so replaced on their dime ....guess where I'm going with this.......
19 FUCKING days later, no AC again.
This isn't joe shadetree mechanics and crackpipes inc, this is the same GMC dealer we bought the fucking thing from.

I would take it to Joe Shadetree for any non warranty repair. Dealerships charge through the nose and put monkeys to work on your car. Joe Shadetree might be a drunk picking parts of his brain out of his nose, but more often than not he'll get it figured out because his fucking livelihood depends on it.

I made the service manager completely aware I have no intention of paying for this repair. What I told him was 'I am an electrician, if you hired me to put in a light, you would not care how I did it , you would expect the light to come on'.
Also, unfortunately ...women. This is the wife's car and I have little say-so, even though I 100% got dragged into this shit today when it broke again. Happy wife ...something something.

I am really starting to get tired of dealing with two things in my current home state of washington ( PNW)

the first thing I am fucking sick of is every store trying to check my receipt in the name of loss prevention because shaniqua, tyrel, and meth head joe want to go on a 5 finger discount shopping spree. I usually say no politely every time, but one occasion at fred meyer while picking up produce two security guards literally tried to grab me and stop me when I politely declined their request. The first guy was a little bigger than me but didnt put much force in his attempt, so I just slid threw his attempt and said "you can fuck right off". The funny thing is the usual suspects just power walk past them while grandma is getting her receipt checked. This shit doesnt do anything in terms of loss prevention aside from hassle paying customers. Plus, just because you have some sort of agreement on a sign that you wish I agreed to doesnt make your agreement like fucking costcos.

The second thing I am very getting sick of, is prices on the store shelves not matching the price in point of sales. At first I didnt notice, because me and my wife were both working and just made enough money to not think of it. Now we have a kid, I am the only source of income so naturally I start to notice a bit more. It got so bad that I ended up spending about $50 more than what I budget for our groceries. Not a lot in the long run, but I am trying to budget in vacation funds for the year, and my daughters college ( or trade school please for the love of god) fund.

So I basically wrote some scripts that scrape the listed store prices for the products I want to buy through their website, confirm the price as I shop, and when I check out I basically tell them the price in the store is incorrect, ask them to honor it, and if they dont I just leave it at the register. I know its not the fault of the cashier, but its the only thing I can do to push back at this bullshit. So every sunday morning I basically leave 7-10 things at walmart and fredmeyer or safeways register because the price is mismatched. Eventually I will build enough data and send it to weights and measures, because fuck that shit. Not that they will end up doing a damn thing, but I dont know what else I can do about it.

I know small time problems, but when its every fucking sunday it starts to wear on you.

HOW is a fuel pump 1200? Is it one of those 'inside the fuel tank' vehicles? I remember that being something you can replace yourself. I had a car in storage for 3 years, and stuff rots, I had to replace my fuel lines / pump.

In her car the it's in the fuel tank, AND the fuel tank sits above the rear axle. So there's a ton of work on that end. More labor than anything. I looked at doing it myself (I've changed out fuel pumps before) and when I saw the level of action it would require it quickly became a "has to be done at a shop with a full proper lift." scenario.

Oh and we're now in day two without power and estimates of Friday before power is back.

yeah my fucking truck has one of those. what a shitty design. When the fuel pump goes I'll be replacing the truck cause 1200 is what I paid for the whole thing.
