I'm getting that on my Samsung too. It seems like it's ads that are auto installing themselves. As best as I can recall all of the unauthorized programs I've found have been ads in various games i do play.

But only on Samsung. Not on my pixel or my tablet. This is despite having the Samsung locked down as well as AI can figure out how to do.

Not really jimmied, just the way the federal government works. When you get an amatuer radio license it's good for 10 years. So it "expires" in 10 years, but not really. You get a 2 year grace period that you are sitll listed as licensed if someone looks up your callsign. They did this because sending out a notice when a license expired was too expensive. So if you use that 2 year grace period and pay the fee to renew you next experiation is 10 years from when yours expired, so 8 years from when you renew lol. I only renew because you don't have to retake the test ever if you keep renewing. The feds, hard at work.

But they sent me a PDF with two copies of my license. One to go in my wallet which is not required and another larger one they say is suitable for framing. Umm I'm sure 0.0% of people do anything other than not print it or throw it in the trash. Feds at work.

Either way. I'm good for 8 years and probably a 2 year grace period after that, who knows it comes and goes.

fuck Samsung. My tablet screen just stopped working. It's under warranty, but they need me to first upload proof of purchase to make sure it's still under warranty.

I'd normally understand, but I was logged in on my Samsung account, and I bought the tablet through Samsung.com on the same Samsung account. It seems they updated the site last year and it lost part of the purchase history I have with them.

I literally had to print off the receipt from Samsung and reupload it to Samsung.

Do a lot of ham radio? When I was in KY I was hearing people speaking through anything with a speaker , even unplugged things. Freaky as hell. Then randomly if I was on a wall phone (this was pre-easy cell phones) people would talk all over me. FF to me walking over to my job site one day and noticing the heavy copper cables strung between 2 trees literally right across from my apartment. No idea what that guy was pushing but it probably sterilized me. lol

My first college apartment had a guy in the house next door with a giant antenna tower (giant for being like 20 ft from my living room anyway). When he was doing his thing, basically all the electronics were useless. Not sure what kind of a thing he was, but I never understood a fucking thing he said despite constantly hearing him loud and fucking clear. Imagine a hardcore creole auctioneer (also probably drunk as fuck).

90's, we rented a house in the middle of the cows. closest neighbor was maybe 1/2 mile away. people started talking over us on the phone, so called the phone company, they said it was my issue and check my box on the side of the house. there was no box on the side of the house and it took me a while to find where it connected. under the house in the crawl space was a metal plate about 16" long with 2 big copper spools at the top, bunch of old electronics and enough connections for about 20 phone lines.
called the phone company again, they repeated the same thing. told them there was no box, described the thing under the house and told them if they didn't fix it was going to each neighbor to tell them you are letting me listen to them on the phone. they came out the next day and put a box on the side of the house.

I dunno man, I bet the people who get their call sign on their license plate probably frame the big copy and laminate the small one and keep it in their wallet.

I've been going to see a pain management place here locally since early 2025. They are local as in less than 10 minute ride. They switched to an app. Their billing has not been right since. My card has a co-pay, I pay that. Then I get bills, and bills , and bills. When I ask to meet/speak with someone they cannot since no one knows how the app works and it's all done through their app. I go back tomorrow. The app says I owe them $220 , yesterday I got a physical statement in the mail that said I owe them $125. If they were not the only game in town I'd leave already but man it's getting to not be worth it.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds is being "winded down" by Paramount Plus?

WTF? It is a GOOD SHOW with an impressive range of themes, characters and tones. It's FUCKING GREAT TV that can reward TOS fans and new viewers alike.

But it's being burned down by Paramount?

What the hell?

I meant that anyone could have anything positive about it, it's a lolcow for online critics, you would be the first person I've heard remotely positive about that trash. What's next, Rings of power is stunning and brave?

To maybe add something other than just disdain, I rarely watch much anymore, but currently working through Arcane. Havn't played in like a decade or so, so no real attachment to the setting. Some little quibles someone could try to say is PC, but if it is, it's not in your face. Probably some of the most expressive animation I've seen. Now that's something id rather see get further content from.


Edit: Sorta eat a little crow. I was mainly thinking about academy because you know it's the newest current thing. That's the biggest abomination, however in general star treks been dead really for a while. Which hits personal after watching so much of it in decades past and rewatching a few of my favorite of the movies too many times

yeah ok glad you added the edit. This season has been a little weird but Strange New Worlds has been the best ST to me since TNG/DS9 era. I could not even get into the cartoon one.
