I'll also add that I spent years reporting every one of those payroll emails that came with the big red text across the top. It clearly had spoofed headers because it claims to be from [email protected], yet had that red text. That is a textbook sign.

IT did one mass email about it early on, and I've given up my personal crusade now. Apparently they can't figure out how to fix that.

Once a quarter or so, our CIO books meetings with individual teams just to check in. It’s the most waste of time meeting ever. They just regurgitate a bunch of company news and give us an opportunity to ask him questions. This time around they happened to book the meeting on my work from home day. All of the managers want to kiss his ass so, they make it mandatory that we all go in for this meeting. Thankfully, I don’t live too far from work, but it’s rustling my jimmies that I have to get dressed and drive 25 minutes into work on my work from home day just to listen to some useless bullshit. This meeting is in addition to our quarterly all department meeting.

I actually like those meetings. Maybe it's because I've been around long enough to have known those executives back when they did actual work. But my company is cool about it. We can phone it in and even watch the recording if we can't make it live. You should just take an extra work from home day next week. The way my company entices you to join live is by having a crawfish boil in the parking lot and free beer afterwards.
