I can't be sad about Ozzy dying, the fact that he lived this long is astounding. I hope he donated his body for medical study, I am sure all kinds of interesting things can be learned about drug abuse on the human(ish) body, brain, and organs given the life he lived. Remember the myth about him biting the head off a bat during a live concert back before the internet, a meme in it's own before memes? Ahhh, fare thee well Mr. Osborne.

He bit the head off the bat at vets auditorium in Des Moines. Worked on a renovation there and always a topic of conversation especially when he'd come back into town.

It wasn't a myth. He really did it. Unless you think he got rabies shots just to sell the bit.

He also snorted ants off the ground.

Drugs are bad, mmmkay?

The local news anchor said that Ozzy had been the "main injection [of creativity] into Black Sabbath" (roughly translated). Yeah, good choice of words there lol.

Anyway, RIP a legend. He was the soul of Black Sabbath (if not the talent, that goes to Tony Iommi).

Iommi is a guitar God that always gets overlooked for some reason.

I don’t know why, but I remember this more than the Cosby show. Probably because it was created by J Michael Strazinski.
There were a shit ton of short-lived but interesting shows similar to this around this time. Jerimiah. Then you had one that revolved around a dude that for some reason knew all the trivia in the world and used it to solve problems. Then another one that revolved around some Space Shuttle astronauts that witnessed the Earth explode, and were then teleported 5 years abck in time in order to stop it. Wish we still had lots of interesting show premises like that, but instead we have diversity...

Big part of the soundtrack of my life. RIP Ozzy. Eddy and Ozzy have passed on, once Angus goes that's pretty much my entire catalogue as a teenager.

This one definitely sucks and makes me feel old. I have a lot of great memories around his songs.

I saw him in '18 with one of my best friends (who is also now dead, sadly) and really glad that I did. I remember my buddy and I joking that it would probably be Ozzy's last tour.

I was fortunate to see them a couple of times.

One was Ozzfest 1998 with Tool, Megadeth, and others which was great.

I remember I went with two dudes from high school - I believe this was the summer after we graduated - and we didn’t have shit for money and barely ate all day. I remember Ozzy came on last and we left early ish because we were all so hungry.

Good times. I should go see if I still have the stub somewhere.

I loved his music but I also thought The Osbournes was a hilarious reality show. I remember having never heard of Chipotle (there was only 1 in Chicago at the time I think) and discovering it during the episode that Ozzy was obsessed and was going twice a day.

Yeah I saw a few of those when they came around in the 90s. I think I saw the one you were at, I remember Tool and Megadeth. They were popular and cheap summer concerts to go to. They also had a second stage where the smaller bands played. Walked around, got drunk and high, then at night Ozzy played either with Black Sabbath or by himself.

Saw Ozzy in 1988 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Anthrax opened. Easily the best concert I have ever been to. RIP.
