Look who's been a naughty boy. "BUT but but I didn't mean it like that." Now now Please quietly accept your wrong doing and move a long.

Also stop thinking about me as a 12 year old school girl you creep.
What is this proving in your small little mind exactly?

You keep using the word maturity like some 12 year old school girl. I'm talking about understanding complexity in humour... Probably more a measure of intelligence than maturity.

Jokes involving bodily functions are pretty low on the totem pole, as far as I'm concerned anyway. Chances are an 8 year old isn't going to find many stand up comics very funny, but will crack up over an episode of Cow & Chicken.

It's not a measure of said 8 year old's maturity level, but their ability to understand unconventional logic, irony, observation, or any number of things that makes a more complex 'joke' funny. They have no problem understanding an odd sound + a disgusting smell = funny, though.
I think it's less a matter of your sense of humor evolving and more about your inability to accept something for what it is.

I can watch Spongebob, because it's silly and I expect it to be silly. I don't watch it when I'm in a serious mood. I watch House, because he's a quick-witted asshole who manipulates the people around him in a playful sort of way.I don't watch Ren & Stempy because it's all booger and fart jokes, whichWildstaris not, so your argument falls flat.

You're putting yourself on a soapbox, to champion the fact that you're unable to appreciate things for what they are.

Congratulations.

*Disclaimer - I don't actually have cable and rarely watch TV, but my point is clear

After reading through the "MMO's are Imploding" thread, I realized how much I would abhor having to deal with a wow-style constant quest grind from camp to camp.

I do not care how well written and funny the storyline quests are, I cannot go through it again.

Not in beta & haven't seen leaked footage, but it is my biggest apprehension about the vanilla wow++ retcon.

It definitely has quest hubs like WoW and quest with Twitter-like texts popping on screen during leveling (someone calling you on your transmitter to tell you to do stuff). If you resent quest hubs I'd suggest you to stay away from Wildstar as far as you can, its leveling is all about quest hubs. There is sometimes events but right now (CBT3) they're too rare and xp worthy to camp them. I don't know what kind of leveling you fancy, but Wildstar won't please you if you think quest hubs are the worst thing ever.

Yeah, it relies heavily on quest hubs. It has a lot of discovery quests from exploring as well as path quests which give it a bit of variety, but it is not likely for you Lasch. You could obviously grind to cap or instance to cap once you reach 20, both are viable and comparable to questing in speed (in fact I think pack-kiting on some classes would be much faster than questing), but at it's core it is a quest hub game and eventually gearing would require you to instance or quest since drops are just not a reliable to keep slots up to date.

And those people would bedumb as a box of rocks
I don't know about that. GW2 did do a good job of making the quest hubs less obvious, which changed the dynamic to where you didn't constantly feel like you were being lead around by your nose. I could see why some people would mistake that as the quest hubs not existing at all. While it's not enough to kill my interest in the game, I do think it's disappointing that, with all the things they seem to be borrowing from GW2, they're taking a step backwards on this one. But there seems to be the prevalent notion in MMO development that the in-your-face style of quest hubs make an MMO "more accessible".

There were some people complaining in beta about the game not being linear enough and having options and not knowing in which order to do quests. There were also people complaining about hidden quest that had no breadcrumbs leading to them and that they were missing out in content or loot.

Game definitely has quest hubs is a bit less linear than WoW. Wether it remains that way is a mistery considering all the feedback asking for a more linear game.

Be interesting to see how this does. Playing it at Pax, I wasn't very impressed with the game. It seems like they made a gigantic list of "cool things" they wanted to have and that sounded good. However, actually playing the game it just doesn't seem all that fun. Quests are pretty wretched but more importantly the combat with the targeting stuff just feels gimmicky. I really enjoyed the Tera combat whereas Wildstar just felt like it focused on the "look at us with our targeting stuff" a bit too much rather than letting it simply enhance the experience on its own.

Will see what it looks like when release time comes but based on 30 minutes of playtime of the current game, I didn't see a lot there that made me want to come back. Kind of a bummer too since their PR stuff and sense of humor is great and a lot of things they talk about sound awesome.

So to diverge away from the current path this thread is taking, what's the general consensus from everyone here on the game? Good/bad/ugly/WoW with a minor twist?

Seems like WoW with a minor twist to me. Interesting world and different combat but not something I would probably spend more than a month on.

Mostly Tera shit questing with a wow world style and a over hyped uninspired spammy combat system that was promised to be overhauled but now is off the to do list.

Some world humour and neat items to be found but otherwise this is a game that will be deleted inside the first week or two for most here.

WoW leveling with quest hubs and dungeons . Combat gameplay systems as of CBT3 : you spam filler skills to unleash your finisher skill, with some 3-20s CC skills between. Some like it, some don't. Telegraph system could be interesting but whether it would be fun and convenient at max level is currently unknown, it could quickly become a chore in crowded encounters. The game's lore is basic heroic fantasy 101 with lasers and a pinch of sci-fi elements. The endgame content is classic, it's 40 man raids and 40 man Warplots with instanced PvP like WoW (battlegrounds and arenas). In my opinion it's an interestingfirst-month-onlyMMO, but I wouldn't pay $15 to run the same type of content I can do in WoW, their gameplay is currently not endearing enough and suffers from having too many points of comparison with WoW gameplay.

If you would now make a new character and get dropped into a zone that looks like Durotar, with your first quest objective being "Kill 7 Giant Scorpions and click on 5 items on the ground"; would you rather kill yourself or be intrigued to play some more?
