Someone made notes from Jeremy Gaffney (Wildstar Executive Producer) interview :
Warplots -Grey/white mode, not available to public, tested by Devs, 40v40, can capture downed raid bosses and pit against enemies.
Mentoring -Very very geared to social interction. Mentored player will only be slightly weeker than the Mentor. Rewards for helping lower levels. The option for power-running is there, but at much lower reward.
Settlers buffing quest hubs and setting up some outposts in vunerable areas for "kicking ass and taking names" TONS of real environment interaction.
Friends and family testing - ~500 people Closed beta is focused more on PVP, as there is a large playerbase.
Flying mounts?-He likes them, A lot of people are against them for trivializing content like exploring and pvp (easy escapes). Less social interaciton when you can fly off to the middle of nowhere. Easy to impliment, as the devs use them, but unsure if they will release to closed beta.
CBT2 -2000 more people on top of the original.. Stress test - ~15000 people will get keys. Not focused on hyping game. All stress testers get beta accesss ASAP. CBT3 or Stress test 2 will happen in 5+ weeks. Intend for players to have a full community running (guilds, mail, Auctionhouse, friends list)
Currently
~300k beta keyshave been uniquely logged on
Housing -Currently jumping back and forth between instanced or not. Possibly trying to slot housing and warplots into the world environment, as they have the technology. No commitment to a choice on instanced or world environment housing. Neighborhoods possible, lots of flaws.
Scientist -"Human OCD type stuff" Searching, Lore development, and achievement type things. Information on where you are fighting. ex. Finding an area, and learning why the fights are taking place through a series of quests, where as a soldier would walk in, trip a trap, and get into fight content.
Paths -Effect types of quest you get. 70% of zone content is for everybody. 25-30% is based strictly on your path, and will definately effect future content and lore paths.
Payment Models -Based strongly off what has worked best. They have a large focus on what does work for us gamers, but still need to look at it as what it is, a business.
Servers -Beta data center in Dallas, one being set in frankfurt. Euro can play on NA server currently, but they are looking to cater to the overseas as WoW did.
Telegraphs within raids -Focused on the interaction with your own telegraphs overlapping the rest of your party, and the large monsters putting another telegraph down to mess all your plans up. No set synchonization in encounters like Warcraft, keeping content fresh. Strategy based instead of walk-through based.
Weekly/monthly rewardsfor server best's in PVE. No mention of PVP, but I can only assume it will follow through.
Deep
character customizationguarenteed, as well as gear.
*E-sports *Spectator will help make it a bit more entertaining, but they want to be the top MMO, not the top E-sport
Roleplayers -Paths and housing try to help tell a story about who you are as a player. Looking for more sandbox type play for people who are interested in more social interaction. Can throw parties or host events in your house.
World PVP -CBT3 Will have world PVP. Eldergame looking more towards warplots. No "capture this for your faction" like hellfire towers in WoW.
Australian serverspossible, as lag on Beta is HUGE
Crafting -Lots of info to come, Huge reveal to come. Different type of advancement, not MAKE X OF Y, then MAKE C of Z. Jeremy wants to have a single big reveal.
Economy -Central access points for auctionhouse and other econ. resources. AH plans to stay single server, but they have technology to cross if they choose to. Big plans for AH to be the center of the community.
/emotes -TONS of them, "Sorry nerds, no brothels"
Raid attunements -Developers are PRO-Attunement, caters to harder-core players. If they become tedious, they will relieve them.
Housingis planned to be functional. Decorations are going to be vast, currently 2000+ different decorations.
Housing Dungeons -Items found outside in PVE content can be brought home to unlock certain peices of a "puzzle", which when completed will unlock instanced content in your house which you and your friends can explore. ex. "You killed the king of the goblins in a long quest chain. All the pieces you gathered and brought home open a dungeon where you get to loot their camps for a week"( used by jeremy live)
*Guilds * -Logos, Titles, Not much revealed, lots of guild development. Lots to come.
Circle System -Groups of like-interest people. Can be in multiple circles, can choose circle names, like a Lite-guilde
I hope this can inform atleast one person. The gamefaqs board is way to quiet for me.
