I wonder when this game will actually ship? Early next year maybe?
I had thought Nov-Dec 2013 but now think more like Q1 2014 to Q2 2014 so Between April 2014 and July 2014

They only have 6 classes total, and 2 of the classes aren't even in yet.

I have also heard they are redoing major game systems so, I no longer see anyway in hell that they be ready by Dec 2013 with out being a Massive fail.

Well, release date is more or less NCSoft's decision as the publisher and company owner, and they're not known to be patient people when it comes to MMO releases, most of their games (Aion, Tabula Rasa, TERA, GW2, etc ) were rushed like hell and lacked proper endgame content / gameplay balance / engine optimization.

I think today "When it's ready" is merely a myth, a lie, a deceptive idea from another century, used by short-sighted PR spindoctors busy keeping the hype high while comforting potential customers on the game's readiness comes release. Nowadays, most games get released when you can make the most buck out of it. At some point you can't justify anymore extra months of beta / development to shareholders / investors while maintaining a high payroll (where most of the money goes) without any income. Therefore, there are solid chances that Wildstar will be released when NCSoft wants to, rather than "when it's ready".

I really hope NCSoft doesn't fuck this up because it's going to at the end of the day be up to them to decide whether or not the game is going to suck shit.

I really think if Carbine can do what they want to do, this will be a game I would like to play for a while, but the last 3 MMO's that I've played have felt super rushed at launch and let's be honest.. these days launch is when you're going to have the most players.

We have a winner sir!
I totally agree mate this is why fucking hate Ncsoft as well as all of there games they try to pretend grindy pvp shit is pvp as well as content.
Don't even get me started on Gw or Gw2 lets just say that my views on it are 100% the same as UT maybe even worse.I feel strongly that the GW2 devs have bull shitted the entire MMO community into pretending changing dresses, and new zerg pvp maps is content, same with there hello kitty online, free realms junp puzzles.

To me the Very defention of any AA MMO let alone MMO should be that it should have pvp, dungeons, heroic dungeons, raids, world bosses, crafting etc.
Basically they launched with all there dungeons fucked it was much later they semi fixed them to me they all still suck, there is no reason to chain run them, as well as no heroic version, they basically bull shited everyone into accepting they would not have raids and dungeons that you could farm, to appeal to the casuals as well as take the cheap lazy devs way out of not having to keep churning out meanful content for dungeons as well as raids.

It's hard to say, because we don't how far they are in the content that hasn't been released yet. For example in a video that is at least 6 months they showed the Halion Rings that seem playable and populated...and that's a level 40 or so zone...so they have stuff not in that is done...how much is hard to say.

The last devspeak video had a medic and engineer in them. So they do have them working in their version, how complete I have no clue. That same video showed tons of armor that are to in the game right now.

They said they are testing warplots, and this is not in game right now...so their client has way more stuff than the current beta version. So depending on how much, this year release is possible.

Having said that they are still iterating on core concepts and some major changes to combat and questing are coming...and that makes me think release this year might more unlikely than actual content not being ready.

I would have to say again that speculating / giving opinions about Wildstar's Closed Beta current state is useless since most people don't have access, it's a beta and it's under NDA. Any of it is hearsay, or opinions about people you don't know about, which is biased at best. It's not really about breaking NDA like mad cunts, it's about checking facts, which most people can't do right now.

Also 99% of beta invites would be random : your grandmother / gardener / dog / summer chair / bed lamp could have been picked to beta test the game, most opinions come from random people, not the average gamer / hardcore PvPer / dedicated raider. Some guy would hate X, while other lads would love it. Take it with a pinch of salt, as always.

I think this and EQ Next are the games I am most looking forward to
For me its Next if they don't fuck it up and maybe this.

This will launch 1st either Dec 2013 or they do the right thing and move it to April 2014 so they can finish it and polish it properly.

Next soonest date would be Dec 2014 but even that is like 1 year to early it will be half baked if they do that.

Since they are doing Next Landmark 1 year ahead , I really think they push Next out in Dec 2014 even with it being 1 year to soon.
Teso will then be launching in Dec 2014 window as well.

People write that often and might very well be right, but it's just conjecture. You could just as well argue that "GW2 is doing that and they recently had to ramp up how frequently they do updates because that system didnt bring up enough money to sustain operation with just 1 monthly release.". I'D argue for the latter but not because it isnt bringing the money, I just believe the rumors that NCsoft is sucking them dry, which might just happen to carbine too.
Good point, and completely possible. Based on the number of people that I see running around with the new items every time they're added, I'm led to believe that the shops at least bring in a decent amount of profit, but again, just conjecture.

This is exactly what happened with Bioware and SWTOR. That game needed another 6+ months in the oven but EA wanted it rushed out for the holidays.

Who knows. I would assume they want to fix anything that happened last time before hitting their servers again.

I do find it odd that stress test are happening while a decent chunk of the content and 2 races/classes are not in(well not in the major public testing). Seems backwards, but I guess you can stress servers and infrastructure at anytime instead of waiting till the end like usual.
