It isn't the turtle alone. All that can do is get bigger. But Maple has telekinesis, so she's able to "move" the big turtle around while other people are riding on it.
So it's a joint OP teamup.

I'd suggest watching Zero first but it's (IMO) far and away the best of the Fate series and might spoil you, though I haven't seen the HF movies yet

Kinda funny, there's a moment in stay night where rin comes up with this total asspull way for shirou to recharge saber's mana and i get why she wouldn't have shared it any sooner but it's still a total asspull but then i remember this was originally an eroge and instead of some nonsense 'sharing magus circuits' shit shirou probably fuckstarts saber's manabattery in the VN.

Yeah; for being based on an erotic manga/game, the Fate series of... series, have been surprisingly tame. Fate/Zero is definitely the best of the bunch because it "predates" the games (as far as I know; never played the games) and thus doesn't have all the contrived stories laid out already. It just do what it do to get Shirou Emiya to where he needs to be, and does nothing to relax that feel.

Is the Vinland Saga still considered this season's anime? Because it was the clear winner imo. I might be biased because Vikings, but that animation quality was pretty solid and the story is, of course, great.

Disregard, wrong series

I mostly liked Zero for five reasons:

1) Broskandar
2) The kid characters weren't the focus, the adults and their scheming/politicking were A+
3) Broskandar
4) The dub was very very good so it's a nice change of pace to not have to keep my eyes glued to the bottom of the screen
5) Broskandar

Iskander was definitely the highlight. Really liked the motivation of both Kirei and and Kiritsugu as well.

He does seem seriously retarded throughout the first half of stay-night so far. Rin seems pretty fucking stupid too for going with him to Einzbern castle to rescue Saber.

I assume there's some explanation during the Zero wrapup as to why he never went back for Illya, and maybe her life wasn't quite as directly shitty as Sakura's, but it still seems like the most tragic out of all the characters of the Fifth War.
