The population on Dreamscythe (PvE) has been massive since release but I never really paid much attention to what that means from a raiding guild perspective. That is until this past week with the release of phase 5.
The semi-HC guild I'm in had most of it cleared by Wednesday and Cthun down by Thursday, which was 3 days of AQ40 going live. I was a little curious where that might put us ranking wise on the server of guilds who have done a full clear. My expectation was somewhere in the top 20 or so. Turns out, we were ike 63rd.

Most of that is due to pvp not having a rank decay. All of your hardcore guilds are pushing a majority of rank 14 warriors that make all of classic encounters trivial.
Back in the day, if you were into pvp, you knew the rank 14s by name. Now they are shit out by the 100s.
There's a handful of guilds that have 3+ 40 man raid teams clearing bwl in sub 25 mins.
If a BWL raid started at the same time you caught the flight master from UC, by the time you arrived the raid would be over.

2 rank 14s and a mediocre phase will burn you to a crisp.
A lot of home finding I'm sure with sod collapsing and mop opening up. Mop looks super retail to me I can't imagine those who played classic for classic to enjoy that but when 1 sub covers both retail and anni... still a lot of new characters being leveled on dreamscythe.
I think we're really getting into the tbc waiting room mentality and I'm cautious about the next 6 months.

My dad guild cleared AQ40 day 1 without any issues. Had one wipe on emps and two on c'thun while people figured out their positioning. And we had to take 6 pugs with us because lol roster boss.
We don't enforce any consumes or world buffs. The content just isn't that hard. The people trying to join weekly pugs that require every buff + rend + 300g of consumes in a night are just burning themselves out for no reason.
Come join us on Nightslayer, sick of having to put ~4-6 dps every week

You let more than 1 of each inferior dps classes into your raids? You said Classic, thats 30 warriors 5 healers and a token slot for everything else.
This post is obviously tongue in cheek but yeah, classic is fucking aids. Its all warriors buff logged for world buffs and flowers and my namesakes dark moon Faire buff.
