I mean, I liked private servers as much as anyone. But I don't really need to participate in them and have them get shutdown eventually if Blizz is offering me what I want.
I just can't get over MTX + Subscription for Forever.
Yeah, the Forever dev effort is separate from Live and needs to be recouped somehow, but MTX on a Sub is the worst way to do it. Especially when there's no visibility on what / when the next MTX will be. Especially since there were no SoD MTX (that I can recall).
Again, my issue isn't this time - I'd be fine with a required box purchase to play Forever at all - it's how often it will be this time again.

Forever is not a seasonal server. Not even a one-shot server like the Anniversary ones. This will be developed FAR more like Retail than anything else they've done. It's time to stop thinking of Forever as a "game mode" and more like a second full MMO game.I just can't get over MTX + Subscription for Forever.

I think it will be an overall solid change. Ion and his fags can focus retail development explicitly on what makes raids and mythic+ more ballcrushing and regular players will have a place to go.Forever is not a seasonal server.
