Shadowmoon Valley is pretty much Gilneas 2.0 as we are introduced to something that is visually striking but rapidly turns to complete shit and is utterly destroyed when we leave never to return. From that point on the entire Alliance story is pretty much following breadcrumbs so that the Alliance character can end up in the same place where the Horde storyline goes. While the game has always been more about loot than plot for the majority of players the story simply makes no sense from the Alliance point of view and you really don't get the feel of being the hero. At least in Pandaria you had a sense that you were the major representative sent to explore and understand this strange new land. In Draenor it feels like you are just kinda there, especially terrible when you play Draenei character who in principle should have some degree of emotional investment in what is going on.

I understand that the expansion is over three months late from their original release target and that development on this expansion has been problematic at best, but after Pandaria it really feels phoned in and very Cataclysm-like.

Its been said, time and time again that the Alliance story sucks and if I cared enough to look for it - a blue post stating that they are looking into possibly changing it. I really dont think the shit will be that bad when we go into retail cause there is so many fucking cut scenes that we're missing in beta that its annoying. Where as I feel like Horde didnt have that many? Im not taking up for the story, just wishing upon a star that there is more to it.

Since I'm coming into it very late to the party I had presumed that any changes they were making to the Alliance story had already happened. I mean it is possible that the cutscenes are leaving out all sorts of really interesting plot interactions, but I really am not seeing it in the actual content that the player works through.

I suppose they could align some of the 6.1+ stuff to improve upon aspects of the story as they move the plot through Tanaan Jungle and beyond, but that is many months away at best.

For shits and giggles I resubbed today for the first time since early Cata. I never bought the MoP expansion but somehow it is active on my account. I bought D3 Reaper of Souls when it came out. Did Blizzard offer some bundle I was unaware of or are they just giving away MoP now for free?

Man, I've stopped giving shits about MMO lore to the point that a final raid could be a clowncar full of nuns and as long as it's a fun fight and they drop my +betterer I would be cool with it. Even still, I actually really liked pandaria because of the eastern setting and I was pretty sick of the typical WoW scenery. I'm feeling kind of bummed out about going back to not-outland again and fighting orcs.

E: they would be evil nuns who were corrupted by corruption

Probably would and I'm not even close to that rich anyway. I seem to get by with the 10-15k I make from leveling a toon up to 90, and don't get much more than that.

It looks like accounts that didn't have Mists of Pandaria recently had a chance to be awarded a free copy of the expansion, which is now $10.

I haven't really followed this expansion, but by Back to the Future rules, I would think that the present timeline would continue from the point of where Garrosh jumped back in time to 35 years ago.

So for the next expansion we get a sweet new truck or we have to stop Thrall in his casino mansion.

After a couple years away from the game I played my 85 Enhancement shaman and 85 warlock (destro and affliction) for a couple of hours yesterday. For all three builds I played, it seems like rotations were all focused on 3-4 abilities. Just curious to know if that is how every class build plays now.

Reason I'm asking is I'm trying to figure out what class to choose for my free level 90. Once the WoD class changes go live, anyone know which class will have the most complex rotations and reactive abilities? I'm only concerned with tanking or DPS roles.

Every class kinda plays a bit similar now. Watch for procs, use things on cooldown. Some guys have combos but it's mostly the cooldowns and procs thing. Just gotta figure out which you like the best. If you like tanking AND dps, paladins are awesome as hell, and ret is pretty fun. Make sure if you're boosting a 60+ character that you have two tradeskills picked up out, as they will be maxed out as well with the boost.

I've been wanting to fire up my OG Paladin but ret is sooooo gear dependant it depresses me to do ~50k dps lol
Thank goodness I can queue as holy, and get ret gear... rockin that sub 500ilevel holy gear and still outhealing most nubs in LFR
