if they can even develop the assets, won’t be successful.
Guy who never played Ascension tells you why they won't be successful.

Sounds like he's trying to meet you at your level then.oof. Doubling down on talking about things you don't know anything about with a shit tier non sequitur.

Much like with the Turtle WoW crew I wish them the best on their endeavor. If they are able to produce a working game they certainly have a captive audience to provide it to.Ascension WoW isn't like Turtle or THJ. The guys running it are Multi millionaires from it, they were probably making more than Daybreak is on EQ. The amount of Assets and content they added is far beyond what Blizzard adds in a typical WoW expansion.
I play because of the custom classes. I don't care about Warcraft lore.90% of the reason people play these pserver projects is simply because it’s WoW. Their own branded MMOs, if they can even develop the assets, won’t be successful.
Neither do the vast majority of people who play WoW.I play because of the custom classes. I don't care about Warcraft lore.
The only agreement that makes any sense is if Blizzard allows Ascension to use WoW's engine, but they have to come up with their own art / content / story / etc. It might feel like WoW, but it will look ENTIRELY different.View attachment 639053
It's going to be it's own original MMO.
Do you guys think that Blizzard and Ascension came to some form of agreement and are going to pull an Everquest Legends since Ascension is so different from regular WoW?
I mean that's possible but who knows they are potentially releasing Classic+ at Blizzcon this year. The only agreement that makes any sense is if Blizzard allows Ascension to use WoW's engine, but they have to come up with their own art / content / story / etc. It might feel like WoW, but it will look ENTIRELY different.
Oh I totally agree that if Ascension opened their books to Blizzard, they definitely wanted a piece. But with something as massive as Classic+ coming this year, whatever Ascension offers can't look ANYTHING like WoW. But licensing out the engine so that all Ascension has to do is art work and content, then the Ascension devs could easily roll up an alpha state game in a couple months.I mean that's possible but who knows they are potentially releasing Classic+ at Blizzcon this year.
I think it would be funny as fuck if the walked out on stage and announced Classic+ and it was just fucking Bronzebeard with some slight changes.
Idk personally I'm curious what Ascension has in store, the legal battle happened far to quick I honestly think they might have made an agreement with Blizzard of some sort, Say what you will about Ascension but the servers were unique easily the highest population private servers and printed money. If Blizzard seen that and knew they could get a piece of that with doing minimum work. Who knows.
