Absolutely agreed. Ascension has a far more developed end game. But the leveling experience was something I always enjoyed. I was never a rush to max level and raid type player. I liked faction grinds, to a degree, and those got weaker as time went on.

I don't think those matter a whole lot in BB.

Honestly, wotlk.

Every one of these servers offers something, new zones or new raids or new whatever, but eventually all that new stuff wears off. Oh cool you added booty bays dirty butthole, a new pirate themed lvl 35 dungeon in stv....that's cool...so deadmines? Oh you even reused deadmines assets.....cool...I guess. I'll run through it once or whatever. Ultimately that's just alternative leveling content.

At the end of the day this isn't everquest, we aren't spending a sizable amount of our playtime selling loot in east commonlands tunnel or cybersexing some 45 year old man pretending to be a hot woodelf in kelethin, atleast I hope you aren't doing that lol.

The vast, vast majority of your time spent playing is in combat, pressing buttons, doing a rotation, using the tools your class has been given.

Vanilla is the weakest version of this & has the worst class balance. You gotta gather together 40 dudes, 25 of which are warriors, and the rest just heal the warriors or press 1 for shadowbolt/frostbolt/etc? All to fight the simplest raids with the bare minimum of mechanics.

TBC is only slightly better balance wise and most class/specs are still garbage, but now atleast you only need 24 other retards to do content.

Wotlk is the best version of classic wow, not only the 3.3.5 client is the cleanest but every class/spec is atleast viable and different enough that everyone can find one that's gameplay matches what they want to do for 90% of their time logged in, which will be combat, leveling dungeons or raids.

Bronzebeard is the only server offering wotlk gameplay. That alone is enough for me. But the fact that it also offers SoD style exploration/runes (mystic enchants), 10-25 man flex raids (so I can raid with say, 17 dudes and it scales to us), mythic 1-10 plus ascended raids etc means it has the most robust options for end game, dungeons, etc and it also has the largest selection of hardcore/ high risk /challenge modes etc so I can always roll up an alt and replay all that new shiny leveling content in a new way.

Not to mention, bronzebeard is time locked progression, its the only one I know of that is planning on going to tbc then wotlk.
My issue with WOTLK is that's when everyone started teleporting to dungeons and combined with flying means the world is largely dead. It started people being mega fags about dungeons.

No world PVP is a major bummer.
