PC police killed creativity. You can't be creative or funny anymore without offending someone.

I would argue that successfully “fooling” the censors or masses takes a lot more creativity to pull off. The masses is harder because instead of trying to fool a panel of reviewers, you’ve got millions of people pouring over your shit to find something to be outraged about

Asking for high-quality (which likely means high budget) and original TV content is a little unfair because it's so attractive to build on an established IP, especially in genres with strong IP like superhero or scifi. If a studio is willing to put up the $$$ for quality actors, special effects, sets, etc, they're probably willing to pay the $$$ to license an IP.

That's not to say that high-quality and original content isn't made regularly, or that high-quality writing can't exist without a large budget.

It is interesting watching the dumb dumbs no apples deepthroat these fucking writers. Hollywood blows dick, the union of shit has no leverage and are more irrelevant than ever. You don't enter in talks for negotiation from a place of weakness.

There are more forms of entertainment than ever before, more dogshit on more platforms is being churned out than ever before 99.9% of it is total ass. Slap on DIE gayness in the mix and even when you have good writing it gets shit on with black characters or gayness.

People are turning to TikkyToks, YouTubes, and Twitch instead and you pathetic American Inventors want to make it more expensive to produce more worthless dogshit. The writing being on the wall for all hack talentless writers is just the chefs kiss but instead you think I am the one not seeing the full picture? Lololololololoool oh wait you're serious allow me to laugh even harder. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLLOLOLOL

It's almost like a trash job with trash pay and trash practices brings in trash employees. Truly, mind blowing stuff thank you for your 200IQ contribution

I did ask it to limit it to 200 words. It loves to ramble.
but can it keep track of what its spitting out and create characters who dwell within each of those realms and not contradict itself? that seems like a lot to ask.

ChatGPT 3.5 has a conversation limit of about 3000 words it can 'remember', ChatGPT 4 can do 25000 words. I imagine, if you know how it works, you can do pretty well. You can feed it previous story elements and then have it expand on that to get around the limit.

Game of Thrones, the first novel, has around 300,000 words. The average screenplay is ~30,000.

Last Kingdom and Magicians are copying other's work. While that's mostly what TV does, the argument is that these people deserve increased pay because of their creative efforts, which is laughable. They can't even copy anymore without inserting some kind of diversity message. Look at LotR stuff and Jordan's WoT series for examples. Look at Witcher.

The Magicians tv show has very little to do with the books, and it is probably one of the better examples where the changes they made were, for the most part, better than the source material.

The books were more realistic, but that also meant the characters were completely insufferable little shits and the plot was pretty dour and humorless.

Sir, I have been inspired.

The Prompt: "Write a 500 word story that continues the book "A Dance with Dragons".

The reply:

Spoilers for the book "A Dance with Dragons" ahead!

As the winter winds began to pick up, the armies of the North prepared for battle. Jon Snow, newly elected Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, watched from atop the Wall as Stannis Baratheon's army marched towards Winterfell, determined to take back the castle from the Boltons. Jon knew that the fight ahead would be bloody and brutal, and that the fate of the North hung in the balance.

But as he watched the army below, Jon couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He had seen too many battles in his time, and he knew that this one felt different somehow. He couldn't put his finger on it, but he knew that he needed to investigate.

Leaving the Wall in the hands of his trusted friend, Samwell Tarly, Jon rode out to meet with Stannis. The two men had a fraught relationship, but they shared a common goal in defeating the Boltons. As Jon approached Stannis' camp, he was struck by the sight of Melisandre, the Red Priestess, standing at the edge of the encampment. Something about her presence made Jon uneasy, but he couldn't put his finger on why.

As he entered Stannis' tent, Jon saw that the king was surrounded by his advisors, including Ser Davos Seaworth, the Onion Knight. Stannis greeted Jon with a curt nod, but it was clear that he was distracted by the war ahead.

"Lord Commander Snow," Stannis said. "What brings you here?"
"I wanted to speak with you about the battle ahead," Jon replied. "I can't shake the feeling that something is off. We need to be prepared for anything."
Stannis scoffed. "I have an army of ten thousand men. What could possibly go wrong?"

Jon opened his mouth to respond, but he was interrupted by Melisandre.
"Lord Commander," she said, stepping forward. "I have seen visions of the battle to come. The Lord of Light has shown me that victory is within our grasp, but only if we make a sacrifice."

Jon felt a chill run down his spine at her words. He had heard stories of the sacrifices that the Red Priests were known to make, and he knew that they often involved blood and death. He didn't trust Melisandre, and he didn't want to see any of his men die needlessly.

"Enough," Stannis said, cutting through Jon's thoughts. "We have no time for this. The battle approaches, and we must prepare."
Jon nodded, knowing that he wouldn't be able to change Stannis' mind. But as he left the tent and headed back to the Wall, he couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible was about to happen. He knew that he needed to be on his guard, and that he needed to prepare his men for the worst.

As the armies clashed in the snow-covered fields outside Winterfell, Jon watched from afar. He saw the Bolton forces break through Stannis' lines, and he knew that all hope was lost. But as he turned to leave, he was struck by a sudden pain in his side. He looked down to see a knife sticking out of him, and he knew that he had been betrayed.
As he fell to the ground, Jon saw a figure standing over him. It was Melisandre, and she wore a satisfied smile on her face.
"The Lord of Light has spoken," she said. "You were a sacrifice that needed to be made."
And with that, Jon Snow, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, died.

Not that bad actually.
