to cover the (non-retard half of) costs from accidents caused by retards that weren't caught in time.

No. The point was that the money must be used for something that stupid that will make no difference at all.

I gotta admit, adaptive cruise, blind spot warning ,lane assist, I'm finding myself not paying attention as much as I should be.

See... I'm still vigilant about driving. I think AI's first move will be to pull a Batman before out right exterminating us. It'll do it's job long enough for us to become complacent and then...

Or as I think I might have previously mentioned have some dark dressed mysterious woman show up at the viewing throw salt all over your corpse and coffin and scream "AND THIS TIME YOU'LL STAY DEAD" then leave without answering any questions.

Every now and then I get a reaction on this board to an old picture I posted in the random picture thread so I'll go check it out just to see what it was. Most of the time it's like looking at the picture for the first time, like I have no memory of ever having seen it. It's kinda awesome and terrifying at the same time. Then this happened...

I was shopping for a Dremel because I needed to do some fine work on some metal. At the same time my wife wanted to look through the bins of yarn we have stored. What do I find? A Dremel I'd bought 25 years ago. Now I'm sitting here wondering what else I own that I've completely forgotten about. I'm not sure if this is the aging mind or simply too much stuff to remember it all... or maybe that also is aging.

Don't feel too bad. I think I have like 37 caulk guns. The first couple of times I couldn't find the one I knew I had somewhere. The other times, I just bought another whenever I need to pick up caulk for something because that was easier than digging any of the other ones out of whatever godforsaken bin they managed to end up in.

Different but similar, I just reread a 14 book series I have definitely read all of before. Garrett Files PI by Glen Cook, the guy who did The Black Company, in case anyone cares.

The last book was published in 2014 or so, and it even shows up on Goodreads as when I started reading it and when I finished, so I definitely read it. It is the final book, perhaps ever, and some fairly noteworthy shit happens. I don't remember a single fucking thing about the plot. Or the plot of almost all the other books, including one where they had fucking UFOs and aliens in it!

I remember characters, because the same characters show up repeatedly book after book, and I could have named half of them before even looking again, but the actual plots are just gone from my mind. Like, it actually kind of bothers me how gone they are. Sure, I read them all the first time as they came out, and it started back in the 90s (maybe 80s), so some of it can be excused. But the one that came out in 2014?? And had major shit happen? I should have been at least thinking, "Oh yeah, I remember that!" occasionally, right?

Fuck man. What else have I forgotten?
