Those graphics confuse the fuck out of me. What are the white zones on the left and right? Softer vision? What the fuck does that mean? I always thought they were like parallel lines.
When you first get progressives you will find you have to turn your head a lot to keep your eyes within the viewing area of the lenses. You can’t keep your head still and shift your eyes to the side to see something clearly on your left, for instance. You need to turn your head in that direction. It becomes second nature within days if not hours. Not a big deal, IMHO.

Moms dad would be 128 today, and I remember him. Mentioned it before I am 55 and my uncle died in WWII, two months before my mom was born.

progressives?
They say you get used to them eventually, but I fucking hated the pair I tried. When I first tried them, I was like, "They gave me the wrong glasses. There's no fucking way they're supposed to be like this!" I think I toughed it out for a week hoping to hit the magic inflection point. I'd rather have multiple pairs that actually work for the use case. I'm sure it depends on how bad your eyes are, but if I'm not driving or reading/computing, it really doesn't matter if I can see or not, and basically everything I read is on a screen that lets me change the text size and distance anyway. So now I just keep a pair in the car and otherwise embrace the squint.
