I loved House of Cards, but after season two, you start to realize that Frank is unbeatable. He's like Batman, but in politics. The acting performances are great, I just can't suspend my disbelief.
If it's going to continue following the British version fairly closely like it has, then this will change soon enough.

Sherlock
Firefly
Castle
Top three and can watch any time but interchangeable based on my mood.

Eureka
Warehouse 13
Love these shows, didn't discover until a few seasons in and binge watched them hard.

Upright citizens brigade, still laugh every time at ass pennies and bucket of truth episodes.
Kids in the Hall

Parks and Recreation
The Good Wife
Boston Legal
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

I would add Game of Thrones but I think I only watch it so I can talk to my wife about it, tried to talk about the books while reading them and I would just fuck it up. I would say this list would change drastically every few years, a year or two ago Breaking Bad would definitely be on the list.

Also Gargoyles and Highlander, watched the shit out of those.

I have fun watching Walking Dead, but it's a different type of fun. I sit there mocking the plot holes and their stupidity.

I've wanted to watch Deadwood, the few episodes I've seen are great. But then I sit there and realize that the show was canceled early. Did they even give it an ending?

2. Sopranos
3. Deadwood
4. Boardwalk Empire
5. Breaking Bad
6. Curb Your Enthusiasm
7. Arrested Development
8. Game of Thrones
9. The Larry Sanders Show
10. The Ricky Gervais Show (that fucking cartoon HBO threw together of the podcasts w/ Karl Pilkington and Stephen Merchant - absolutely kills me!)

Essentially, without HBO - the last 10 years would have fucking sucked dick for me television wise.

HBO is what turned me into a television snob.

It kinda got an ending, but season 3 was weaker than the other two. I do really recommend the first two seasons tho, great TV.

One thing that has stopped me from watching Deadwood and Carnivale, is that I'm worried they didn't get an ending. Too bad that HBO didn't look at shows then as they do now. They didn't realize back then that people will stay subbed if there is one good show on at all times.

Well personally a big difference between the early cancellation of Deadwood and and the early cancellation of Carnivale is that Carnivale really suffers from the lack of a proper end where I don't feel Deadwood really does.
