Rick and Morty

The episode in and of itself was really good. It just was an underwhelming season finale. Especially considering you had the best episode of the series and an ideal season finale episode with tales from the citadel. I think it should have been ABCs of Beth as episode eight, this as nine, and then the citadel episode as the finale. They did say that while they thought this was a good finale they had to rewrite parts of it to turn it in to one because they were going for a fourteen episode season.

They ran out of time to make their deadline with 14 episodes.

Are we sure that the Rick and Morty from Season 1 with the eye patch/scar are not the same ones fucking with them now? I just find it odd the two that stepped in at teh beginning of the scene and killed Rick had the same eyepatch/scar.

I'm going to have to go back and watch that episode because I don't remember what happened to them.

I'm a little pissed we never got any follow up on Tammy and Phoenix person.

I dunno why the complaints, sure it wasn't as good as the citadel episode, but that is a pretty gargantuan bar to reach.

I mean, just make a list of 10 or so episodes of anything else that were funnier off the top of your head and consider if you'd call any of them mediocre ?

I still snicker remembering the white house internal defenses ;p

They are going to try again for 14 episodes next season.

I'm all for 14 episodes. But in 2020 when the season is released I'm not sure it'll matter as much.

Let me re-iterate because I may have got episodes confused. Last night when trying to stream on youtube it actually played S1 Ep10 which had the evil R&M in it and they looked exactly like the pictures in the briefcase of the campaign manager. Now, I stopped watching midway through that episode and continued my hunt for the newest episode and finally watched it.

I don't remember/know what happened to those two from S1 Ep10. Did they die? Is it possible it's the same two or is there no way they could have lived through what happened to them (If they died). I'll have to try and watch all of that episode later.

Hell, my favorite episode this season was Vindicators 3 which is exactly the type of episode Harmon is describing.

I don't think Vindicators 3 was a spur of the moment designed one. It could fit in anywhere continuity wise, like Purge, but I have a strong feeling I'd heard mention of them wanting to do an Avengers riff before Season 2 was even done, which implies it wasn't a quick addition to the season like apparently Purge Planet was.

Evil Rick was killed by a mob of Mortys that Our Morty rallied with his speech (and Our Morty was called the One True Morty). Several of the Ricks then discovered that Evil Rick was being controlled by someone else (his brain was replaced by a bunch of wires). The last scene then showed Evil Morty blending in with all the rescued Mortys by taking off his eye patch, which revealed the remote control mechanism that was controlling Evil Rick.

Well son of a bitch, I need to re-watch season 1

Bumped into this watching some Youtube - Harmon definitely didn't have Vindicators 3 in mind when he said that now with 100% certainty. Apparently he HATES Vindicators 3...

Vindicators was one of my favorite from this season, "Show me what you got/Get Schwifty" Interdimentional Cables 1-2 were probably my least favorites of the series
