I believe those numbers. I am willing to bet that the sub number will drop under 1 million for the first time in many years in about 2 months. If not for the ability to pay with gold, the numbers would even be lower. This expansion was atrocious in all ways save for music and environment.
The 3.2M at launch for worldwide-china-excluded is certainly incorrect.

The 47% drop (3.2->1.7) between then and now is almost certainly correct. Why do you think they gave away that pet and mount if you subbed 180 days, RIGHT NOW, TODAY, GET IT BEFORE IT'S OVER, NOW NOW NOW!!!

I'm on the verge of unsubbing myself but I'm holding out to see what they have in store for Blizzcon.
Diablo 4, Diablo adventures or World of Diablo (maybe???). That's all the new stuff they're showing this year. The next expansion won't be discussed on the year they launch the current. All the WoW panels will be art stuff and patch 8.1.

Here is what I don’t understand about loot and WQ’s.

Why is there even a cap on ilvl scaling?
Because outdoor content is the gateway to LFR/Mythic. If you get higher stuff outdoor, why even do Mythic (which is now the staple/expected minimal group content - normals are for leveling, heroics for the odd WQ, everything else requires you to do Mythic - cough, Hydrocores, cough).

That's why the ilvl scaling will go up when the next raid releases and the MM base loot goes up by 20ilvl, and not one week before (the anomaly of azerite gear emissary being "oops we fucked big time, lets kludge it").

As I said before, I quit my paladin completely even though they're gods at everything they do.. and it's the best choice I've made. I'm having so much more fun playing both enhancement and resto shaman. Resto especially, the toolkit is insanely huge. I'm out of fuckin' keybinds to even use it's crazy. Enjoying it a lot especially in large scale PvP.

Enhance though it's like.. hmm STORMSTRIKE PROC x9. And I love it.

Sometimes just playing something different is nice. When I stopped tanking in TOS and played Warlock for the tier it felt like a breath of fresh air.

That's $17.6 million down the tubes a month. Ion must be the world's galaxy's best cocksucker to still have a job after losing that much cash.

I'm trying to imagine what will happen if classic launches and half the playerbase abandons current content for it and stays, because they're fed up where the game has gone/continue to go. What could they do to fix something like that? Put a lot of effort into the next expansion where people would of course be enthused about for 1-2 months, but then just migrate back to classic?

Anyone with some sense has always said that only WoW could kill WoW. Usually with it meaning some form of it as a sequel or a complete clusterfuck that just bled dry. Maybe classic is going to be that form.

Most people don't have the stomach for the issues that comes with the older designs, but put enough momentum behind it and people will learn to stomach it just to be a part of that gaming herd.

It's so obvious what the problem with BFA is, and yet they can't force themselves to fix it. Nothing is worth doing. There is a lot of content, but it's all pointless. I just unlocked the final "garrison" buff that gives war resources for doing world quests, and its like 5-15 a quest.. Absolutely shit. Was it like 500 resources to unlock? So in 100 WQs i'll finally break even... AWESOME blizzard. With my follower in legion i was getting 100 resources, 200 gold, and some artifact power (random) for every WQ... now its 5 resources? seriously?

Oh and how excited i get to do a mission for 200 gold..... They totally neutered everything and the end result is I do nothing. Somehow in some idiot's mind they thought it would push everyone to do MORE content, but the apparently forgot people are humans and their playerbase are mostly casuals. Azerite is somehow worse than legendaries and leveling your neck enough to unlock t3 is just not worth it. Legion was the perfect balance between carrot and stick, now the carrot is too far out of reach and makes it pointless to try for.

I will say Uldir is a pretty good raid and challenging but not stupid broken. It is a bit too melee unfriendly but that's something that is always tough to balance.

Kinda funny been doing a lot of PVP lately and noticed my reagent bank was getting full up with all the random meat/fish I get from the PVP boxes. I had not really done any cooking yet this expansions I figured hey lets see how far I can get with the random shit PVP is cranking out materials wise. 30 minutes later I am at 143 cooking haha. It looks like PVP is pretty self sufficient for whatever food you want to make without having to do any fishing or harvesting.

and the place was elbows to assholes filled with L120 people running around. Complete fail when the only fun people have in BFA is to run Legion wq's.

If they're like me, they're doing the Legion WQs for the gold. I dusted off my Legion bodyguard that has 3 gold buffs, and daily I do all the quick and easy Legion WQs for 25 gold each. There are usually several each day that are worth 100 or more gold on Broken Shore and Argus combined and sometimes there's a dungeon WQ worth over 200 gold. Only takes about an hour or a bit more if a dungeon is thrown in.

I thought "A turtle made it to the water!" was the most compelling game play in the last 10 yrs but finally had to ride a show horse shooting zepplins and now I'm not sure, why you guys are dumping on this Ion fella this is gold Jerry!

I actually liked the horse quest lol. There is an achievement to get 600 points so I spent like 15 minutes doing that. Was fun.

They really need to pivot away from raiding and start embracing the pet battle system as a core gameplay component.

So apparently if you do a Mythic+20 you get ilvl 400 loot from your weekly cache and if you do it in time there is a mount reward in your weekly cache.

There is exactly 1 group who has ever done a +20 in BFA and they just did it for the first time yesterday (and were not very close to making time). The mount reward is a good idea and a nice status symbol. The 400 ilvl loot reward is a real head scratcher for that key level. There will be so few groups that can even do that before 400 ilvl loot is obsolete that it doesn't make much sense to me. It's like locking the 350 ilvl loot behind exalted reps that nobody could attain until 350 ilvl loot was no longer useful.

Is the 400 a mistake is my first question

I've only seen a piece of 400 ilvl loot once before and it was swiftly deleted after their m+ fiasco the first week. Mythic raid gear can't titanforge, only warforge to 395. If I had to guess, they had the 15+ reward in the game when m+ first launched in BFA, where the ilvl reward was 400. They then removed it and correctly set it to 385, but never changed the 20+ reward, which appears to be a mount + 400 ilvl gear.

Probably not intentional, or at least not meant to be in the game yet.

Came across the WQ labeled "Loa Your Standards" today, and felt that sums things up quite eloquently.
