You don't need to make it pretty, but it feels mighty good when it does look nice. In my last house I did a bathroom on the second floor that had something like 160 solder joints. Did the whole thing and had one leak. That was a freaking success in my mind.

So someone gave me a cast iron sandwich iron thing. No idea how to use it best. Should I heat it on a burner before putting it on the sandwich I'm cooking? In the oven? On my wife's burning hot ass? Help a brother out.

While I entirely agree with you, it is clear she's making more of an effort than she had been. Perhaps a date night, or something like flowers to say, "hey, I have noticed you're trying harder, and I appreciate it." might be in order. But, whatever.*shrug*

I can do about a 55% down and schedule to pay it off in 6 years. It's in a brand newly renovated section of the city that is entirely for this type of development. In addition to the down payment there would be about 18K$ to do in fencing, railings, steps, and other such shit. It's doable...

I have the opportunity to buy a block of six townhouses. Nice ones, very near the university. I could rent them for home game weekends for 3,000$ per weekend six times a year, which would cover most of the mortgage I would have to take out. I can also arrange with the university to have a...

Both points are true. But you're not going to get charged more than a grand for mudding regardless of who hangs it. Do it yourself (entirely possible) and save 1,500$.

My youngest was quite late in speaking. Like he didn't say much before he was 18 months, but then he started speaking with sentences. We may have complicated things for our kids because we speak French at home. We really wanted our kids to be at least bilingual, and that's the language we chose.
