I swear 90% of the shots in the movie were either spinning around the central character or object (usually a car) and half the screen was covered in a lens flare that would make JJ Abrams cum in his pants. Are we sure JJ Abrams wasn't involved in this movie? Star Trek Into Darkness has nothing...

Watching this now and it is just kind of dumb. It’s bad but also just stupid. Guess I’ll go back and read the thread when it is over but, boy, this is terrible. WHY IS EVERY SHOT SPINNING AROUND A CHARACTER!

Man, I have a pretty high tolerance, but this might be a pass for me.

Just sitting here watching my framers organize and stack neatly the wood at the end of the day.

That sounds pretty cool, on both counts. This is a good example where you really either need a strong architect that can plan for this stuff with you and/or a builder that is more up to date on alternative methods of doing things. It seems so obvious and if you're familiar with it, to you it...

My MIL is doing that in her build for a couple of rooms. Her pottery studio and master bedroom. They're the Mitsubishi real nice ones that are like $5k a piece, can't remember the model number. But she's doing it to compliment her central air and not replace it. Interesting idea but honestly...

1 per floor. That’s how our current house is and I won’t have it any other way. I have 3 independent Manual J/D/S plus the one from the company my builder is suggesting and none of them agree with each other. HVAC is a total crap shoot. The old timers want to use their “rule of thumb” for 1 ton...

wtf is Amazon Luna

A lot done so far, still about 100,000 things to decide. Was out at the site today with my MIL and her house, so flew the drone over the trees to take some pictures. Roof is pretty much completely framed, by the time we left a whole lot of the decking was completed. They were waiting on a 2nd...

So, what is that? It isn’t just a Skyrim mod it is some recompiled hybrid of both games? I’m way behind the times here.

Also true haha. Trainspotting was the first time I saw him though.

Ftfy

Is it kind of Infamous (I think that was the name?) back on PS?

Only had a chance to watch the first 35 minutes. Paused it because I was trying to do some work at the same time. The little bit I saw, though, really made me want to find time to sit and watch. Greengrass does a good job of putting you on the ground in the middle of everything unfolding...

The past couple months we've been catching up on a most of the Marvel movies we never watched. Not even sure how to address these most were so bad and underwhelming. Started going back through all the Tom Holland Spiderman movies. I remembered liking them more but really the 1st one seemed the...

Yeah I ran from my upstairs equipment closet, out the attic, down the soffit, under the house, and back up into the living room and dropped a Flex PoE to have wired + PoE available. The U7 mesh, Roku, and PS5, Switch are plugged through it.

Thanks. Ordered one to try out. Running out of PoE ports on my little TP-Link for testing. Too bad the Pro XG doesn’t fit.

I somehow missed the G6 Entry, maybe because I wasn’t looking at Access stuff at all, but the regular G6 Entry looks nice and can still use the Intercom Viewer apparently without having to worry about electric door access stuff. May pick one of those up to test out here at the house. Most of...

Yeah I could see that being the case. This was more a test for MIL house. She wanted chimes and am “alarm” system, but not something monitored and monthly cost and a big wall control panel and everything. Wanted to test this setup so she could have a door sensor on her main entries and a chime...

I bought some UniFi entry sensors and a PoE chime. Really easy to set up alarms and actions, but pretty disappointed in the chime volume. It says 80 dB which isn’t going to make my wars bleed or anything, but it still seems very low. No volume control in Protect app that I can find (in this setup).

I’m a nutso for mystery box and SCP shit and just have to admit it, mediocre game play or not Control was 120% my jam. Just wish I had time to try this out.

I almost orders a Unifi UNAS 7-bay two days ago as I continue to pre-build my networn rack for the new house. Was weighing the choice or benefit of staying all Unifi or looking at something like a QNAP that could do storage + transcoding for Plex. The primary use would be as whole home media...

I think there are only a couple or handful of voice actors I can name off the top of my head and even then, it will require a little Google rather than just saying "that person that did that thing." Troy Baker is the obvious one. He's just done a gazillion things; his name is ubiquitous with...

The only QTE in games that are acceptable are the "hold X to skip" ones for cutscenes. Ideally, it wouldn't even be a QTE and I could hit start or whatever to get back to blowing things up.

My best friend bought one of those around 2018 because it had a GVWR of like 6,008 lbs which was 8 lbs over the qualifying GVWR for maximum business vehicle depreciation. And it had 100% bonus depreciation at the time. He researched the hell out of it to find the exact luxury car to meet...

Work in progress

This looks like some old arcade arena based mech shooter, can’t remember the name. Virtual On?

no

I’m mean in its own way that does sound terrifying.

You watch your whore mouth. PT was awesome!

I’ve looked at so many different versions of that from this, Broken Binding, SubPress, someone else or at least one more and I just can’t do it. Waffle back and forth but just didn’t like all 3 enough to have it in my shelf. Good looking version though.

Been slowly watching this in the background and I have to say it is very good. Thanks for the recommendation.

Got a Reolink outdoor camera with solar panel to mess around with and check in on build. Data plan isn't bad at all, $5 / month for 1 gig. I don't keep it streaming or anything full time. Just threw it up on a tree today. Will go back and adjust it this week. Tomorrow have to go with MIL to do...

Some of that very slightly reminded me of doing work in Sketch Up or 3D Fusion for woodworking projects. At the beginning I tried to draw cubes what not and connect individual boards which ultimately ended up being extremely frustrating to get correct. Eventually I just drew profiles on a 2d...

I mean it could end up being good in a Happy Death Day / Blumhouse sort of way. I'll give it a watch.

I have a TON of drone shots, down to walking through the framing holding the drone (this weekend I may completely disable the sensor’s and try to fly it through). But I try to limit the posts to just a couple. If there’s anything you’d like to see closet construction wise just ask.

Damn, now I want to rewatch Life, and Journeyman.

I was looking for a way to setup a route in my UDM to access something on my desktop while out of the house. Unifi was all "Yo, download WiFi Man and just hit the Teleport button." So, I tired it and damn. Sure enough. One click, works. I'm just amazed when things actually work these days.

This wasn't as good as some Asylum (I know it isn't Asylum, just comparing it to the gold standard) releases, but it was still adequately cheesy and bad. Missed opportunity for some boobage for a movie that takes place at a water park with lifeguards and hijinks.
