The DK1, DK2 and the special kickstarter CV1s will never be valuable as collectors items. The goofy preDK1 ones, the crescent bay prototypes and all the random CV1 prototypes may be valuable though. But only if OVR 'wins' the VR war.

You wouldn't want to do that, because that 55" (or 55feet a ways away from you because why not?) monitor would be at like 1200x1024 resolution. In the future when we get 8k HMDs, that will be a very attractive option.
