Price is being a bitch. He's part of the problem in Montreal. He's way beyond prime years, and he just isn't the goalie he once was. I hope Montreal agrees, releases him, and he gets some back-up gig for less than half of his current salary.

Not bad. I feel fine with hoping Holtby rebounds some since the other goalie is the only goalie in NHL history to win his first 8 road starts.

Starting to think Caps just don't like playing in front of Holtby. Double minor PP, and we give up back to back breakaways essentially. At least we scored once after that.

I think he is. Rotating 3 goalies is bad for everyone and like it or not, Hanks here for another year. Shesterkin has dominated every other level for the past 6 years and playing in the AHL at this point will stunt his growth (assuming he doesn't just go back to the KHL). Georgiev is waivers exempt and most likely to be the future backup anyway so that leaves him the most expendable unfortunately.

The only alternative I see is if Lundqvist retires after this year, which they seem to be nudging him to do with this 3 goalie nonsense. Necessary but super depressing.

Shit was glorious and chuck deserved it. What's not in that clip is the brutal hip to head check he did earlier and went completely unoticed by the refs.
