2022-23 NFL Season : Herbert's march to Glendale

"Mayfield instead will join the injury-plagued Rams (3-9). Los Angeles has lost six straight games during what’s shaping up as the worst season in NFL history for a defending Super Bowl champion."

Concussion protocol betting pool? How long does he make it? I say 2 games.

Given AJ Brown just kicked there ass, yup.
It's both very odd to fire the GM of a team who's about to win their division for three straight years and also entirely appropriate, given that the Titans are going to need massive bad luck from their competition for the Titans to stumble into the Super Bowl.

But, IMO, if trading away (including a first round pick!) a player you weren't going to be able to get a new contract done for is on its own a fire-able offense, then no one should want to work for the Titans ownership ever.

Most of the reports I remember about it, wasn't that they couldn't get it done(he wanted to stay) they just flat out refused to offer him a contract he was worth and Robinson did it rather smugly.

Someone explain to me how Baker Mayfield going to the Rams now makes any sense for either party?

Well pretty sure Baker doesn't have a say in it, does he?

As for the Rams? Maybe they are either blocking him from the 49ers, or somehow holding out hope they can limp into the offseason? lol no idea

They're 3-9. Even if they win out they would only have 8 wins which isn't going to be good enough to make the playoffs. They don't have a first round pick next year so there's no real reason to tank, but at this point it's a lost season, just seems like an odd move to bring in another QB. Stafford is just in the first year of his contract so I can't imagine that they want to replace him.

What's the harm? Baker might get some playing time to showcase that he's not as bad as he looked this year. The Rams can get a look at someone that can maybe be a backup for them next year.

Wolford seems okay but he appears to be somewhat injured and Perkins looked absolutely awful.

Well they aren't mathematically eliminated just yet but I'm guessing their odds look something like <0.1% on the betting sites. For their first miracle they'd need 2020 Baker to show up and carry an injury shredded team to a 5-0 season finish. They cannot possibly take the division from the Niners and one of the wild card slots is already out of reach due to the Cowboys being at 9 wins. So they would need some 2 out of 3 combo from the Seahawks, Giants, and Communists to have a complete late season collapse and for no other struggling NFC team to have a late season rally.

Start freebasing that hopium Rams fans, it's not over yet!

I doubt Baker is going to take a job as Stafford's backup. I suppose he's probably looking at it as a chance to show he can still play in hopes of finding a starting job next season. He'll be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season so it's just a 5 game rental.

Does Stafford come back next year, Rams are probable wondering that about a lot of players. Hell, I bet the owner is wondering if McVay will even be back already

Stafford's only 34 and just signed a 4 year $160M contract. Hard to imagine he would just retire.

Out of curiosity I checked out a couple sportsbooks. Fanduel isn't offering a betting line on the Rams making the playoffs and while Draftkings doesn't have a playoffs line, they are offering +40000 on the Rams winning the conference and +80000 on the Rams winning the Super Bowl.
