The game company has to pay the refunds. Steam doesn’t pay game companies the money from game sales right away, so I’m guessing Steam won’t have to pay any, they’d just withhold the payments. I think it’s more of a “you don’t get this money cause it got refunded” and not a true “hey we gave you that money and now you have to pay it back” situation.

Any refund attempts outside the refund window…idk. I guess consumers are going to have to try to get the company to give them refunds.

They will in many instances, because of the time-frames involved.

It depends on whether they did this before or after getting their $$$ from Steam.

But any sale that refunded in the window (two weeks) would not have been paid to the game company by steam yet. Anyone trying to refund outside that window Steam could just say sorry, you’re outside the window.

Game went on Steam 12/11. All sales between then and 1/17 (probably the vast majority of them) would have paid out then?

A lot of people have been successful with refunds outside of the "window". It takes 4-5 attempts and requires getting a human being to review the ticket, but they're happening.

I don’t think so, they don’t pay out that fast. This is just based on previous info from Maelfyn, it took like two months I think for him to see a paycheck from Steam. Maybe it’s different with higher $ amounts but not sure why that would be.

Except Steam has a brand/reputation to protect. They're absolutely going to eat some of these refunds because it's better for them as a brand to eat it.

But like I said, expect a policy change as a result of these scumbags.

They promised too much, went too wide, and at some point had too small of a team trying to do 1000 different aspects of an MMO instead of making a working body to build off of. Then at some point the financial woes and realization they were basically already so far behind they were fucked without a mega launch.

It was mostly just incompetence until the steam launch. Then it was a scam because by then they knew it was over and they were just paying the bills.

I dont think it would have mattered regardless - as someone did the math for the size of team, the average pay, the server costs, etc. and the money made on the game from steam alone would have been spent in the first month alone (after steams cut).

Im just surprised Shariff didnt take care of Margot or w/e her name is in the end. That hoe has been ride or die with him for years now.

He has bigger troubles coming for him in all this. He is 100% going to lose his house and any assets he didn't hide long before now. Karen and the other scammers will bleed him dry, and whatever WARN is sounds like the state is going to fuck his ass raw as well.
